Runs well, plays even better than original.

If you liked the OG, you'll like it.

Too early to say anything about the story.

What a disgrace to just waste the TDU name like this.
I grew up on TDU1, and this ain't it, chief.

It's sad, because there IS a good skeleton in there, but everything is just so half-arsed.
The game looks pretty bad and runs hilariously slow, especially for how it looks.

Driving on a wheel doesn't feel EXTREMELY awful, but it's not the most detailed thing either.

I'd consider this only on an extreme sale, if all other, better choices aren't available.

Early Access Review
I respect the decision to differentiate significantly from PoE1 by making the gameplay slower and more difficult, so both games can coexist.

Unfortunately, it's not for me. It's just frustrating.

Back to PoE1.
I just wish they added this game's skillgems and dodge/sprint system to 1.
Those are fantastic changes.

As always in such cases, this game proves that humanity's greatest enemy is themselves.

A good "Baby's first extraction shooter", but I worry about its longevity if left without changes.

Good:
- Sound
- Atmosphere
- Graphics
- Optimization
- Enemy design
- Generous, eliminating "gear fear" quickly, at least for entry level items.

Bad:
- Initially confusing (but turns into a fun learning process, if perservered)
- Unremarkable quest design, with forgettable characters, objectives and quest rewards
- Too short PVP Time-to-kill, which rewards ambushing.
- Because of the above, engaging larger PvE enemies puts you in a double-risk, with little consequence on the pvp attacker.
(I'd love to see how this game would work with more "PvP consequences", similar to Rogue status in The Division)

I probably wouldn't pay full price for it myself, but if you're more PvP oriented you'd likely have some fun.

The "Arma 3" of racing games.

Fantastic mod support with "old school" way of doing multiplayer, building strong communities where everyone will find something for themselves.

Wheel heavily recommended.

Goes on sale often, grab the ultimate edition.

Game's good, runs well.

Negative reviews are mostly by people angry about region restrictions.

If you CAN play it and WANT to play it, go for it.

5.0.0 update:
Finally a step in the right direction. "Impossible" file size reduction is suddenly a reality, and the performance fixes are noticable.

next step: DLAA
ARROWHEAD PLEASE YOUR ANTIALIASING SUCKS.
If Fatshark can do it, so can you.

---

4.1.1 update:
While the hard crashes are fixed, the performance to quality ratio is still rather pitiful.

It doesn't matter how much content there is if it's not pleasant to play it.
40 FPS on an above recommended PC is not acceptable.
----

One of the best pure co-op games available.

Suffering a little from a slow, dated engine (please add DLSS for anti-aliasing, for the love of democracy) and some confusing design decisions (perks tied to armor and no transmog? really?), but those issues can definitely be overlooked, especially with friends.

Abandoned, likely to crash, riddled with cheaters, grindy.

An absolutely shameful waste of potential.

Screwing around with friends is the only reason to play this.

4/5

Cristina's Song (Dream of the Beast) - 4/5. High tempo, very catchy, the only minus is the very slow part at x16 fury that sometimes makes me lose the rhtythm.

Will's Song (Leviathan) - 4/5. Will's vocals are insane as always, but the instrumentals feel a bit "samey" and tend to melt into noise. Piano was a nice touch, though, offsetting the otherwise completely brutal track a bit.

New Gun - 4/5. Absolutely melts high health targets, but not as satisfying to use as the shotgun. Great animations and design though.

Outfits - 4/5 - Varied outfits, each with its own "feel", and the added effects are a great new strategic option. Only wish the effects were separated from cosmetics,
The Morning Star outfit is a bit too awkward for me, while I like its bonus effect.

Pricing: 5/5 - great value for what you're getting.

Sidenote:
While not actually part of the DLC, the song selector not including the tutorial song is a massive oversight.
"Through You" is better than some of the "real" level songs.

You know that moment in Doom when the music kicks in?
Here it kicks in in the tutorial and just doesn't ever stop.
