Perfect middle ground if you love Diablo 2 and 3 and hate MMO/FOMO element of the modern aRPG genre. As a working dad, for me it's impossible to track radical changes in PoE2 meta and be excited with Diablo 4's MMO stuff and constant silly endgame grind. Last Epoch feels like a game, not like a second job. It is sleek, fun and actually loves to show how OP your character is, even when you're not very good at building and equipment.

Plus it's tweaked but not patched over time to resemble a different game. I've dropped LE on release due to a lack of time and had no onboarding issues after returning in recent updates. Truly a marvel.

As fo the game itself... Combat is silky smooth, builiding is transparrent, crafting is fun and easy to learn plus the game can be played completely offline. Campaign is long, fun and artistically very competent too.

Maybe Last Epoch won't be a genre-defining mega-hit, but I'm glad that there's still sensible and not time-consuming aRPGs out there with very competent devs at the helm.
