Early Access Review
Recommended even in its current state. It feels polished and balanced. Teamwork is essential in higher difficulties. Most perks cannot solo heavy ZEDs like in KF1 anymore. What the game needs now is more content - maps and weapons, specifically. But TWI is still actively developing the game, so, hopefully, it will improve in the future.

Yes, there are microtransactions. No, none of it has any in-game benefit. No stats on weapon skins or experience boosting packs or what-have-you. I'm of two minds about it, but for now, it seems fine. We'll see if it changes.

Love it, love it, love it! I've always loved tabletop games and now I can endlessly bug my friends to play cards with me! It's definitely worth the twenty bucks, but if it goes on sale, it's an absolute steal. It's easy to find people to play with on reddit or the Steam forums, but if your friends get it too, then that problem will already be solved.

The Administrators wish to remind you that we are not responsible for injuries sustained by rolling from room to room in your home after prolonged exposure to Our Darker Purpose.

This game is really fun. Tough as nails, but fun. The enemies and bosses are lovingly designed. It has a charming art style. What little music there is is haunting and well put together. It still sees periodic updates that are carefully balanced and improve the overall experience.

The most glaring problem with this game is that Cordy has no firing animation aside from some swirly fire that moves independent of her. That will never stop bugging me even though I'm not looking at Cordy most of the time when playing this game. The hitboxes are also strange and not entirely obvious upon looking at the sprites.

That said, the items and upgrades you get can change your gameplay in important ways, but it seems as if there are a specific few upgrades or items that you absolutely need in order to beat the game. At least a few of the items from that group, anyway. But overall the pacing and balance of the game is pretty good, especially after unlocking better lessons (permanent upgrades in-game).

Is it worth 15 bucks? It's getting there, yeah. Every update refines the experience. If I were writing this review for past-me, I would tell myself to get it for 15 dollars. But this game certainly isn't for everyone.

A bundle of fun and joy for all ages. Will not cause broken controllers or aneurysms. Promise.

In all seriousness, though, Super Meat Boy is a great 2D platformer with quick, smooth respawning after the many deaths the player experiences, good level design, and fair difficulty, except for a few places. (I'm looking at you, Zombies and Hellmaws.)

A simple and charming procedurally generated platforming game about pattern recognition and tearing your eyes out when you botch that one jump while you're at 99%.

The difficulty will consume your soul. Your own ignorance of enemies and lack of quick thinking will be your undoing. 95 times out of 100, if you died, it was your fault. This is fair difficulty.

10/10

Filled with clever atmosphere and easter eggs. This is a fun game for small children learning to read. I will be recommending it to my neighbor and her three year old twins.
