well, they just released a $30 DLC that adds tunnels and 50 new buildings, but the new buildings are only offered as exclusive content to players who pre-ordered the DLC. I was going to give a review on how the new tunnels work, but the game servers are crashing and overloaded because everyone is trying to play at once! Unfortunately it's got always-online DRM so the server issues (that can generally be reliably forecasted and predicted as this happens with any major game / DLC release) are preventing me from enjoying my single player experience. I guess the publisher and dev studio also told outright lies to their consumers regarding the necessity of the always-online requirement and absolutely none of this is true in fact I might be thinking of the wrong game entirely.

10/10 would pay the full price of the failed predecessing competitor game to have my hopes and dreams utterly crushed, then pay the full price of Cities:Skylines to impossibly restore and rejuvinate my spirits in the rebound of the F%#&!*NG century.

broke into my neighbour's house and used it as my "base", because apparently my guy lived in a Dalmer-esque toilet of a house.

things were going pretty good for about 4 days until randomly like 6 planes flew overhead, creating a whole buttload of noise. looked outside and more zombies than i could count were running in whatever direction the plane went, and used my house as a throughfare because i mistakenly left the back and front doors open. promptly locked myself in the bathroom and drank copious amounts of bleach.

11/10

false advertising...this game said i had 7 days, but i stepped on a landmine 15 minutes after spawning and died.

jokes aside though, this game is incredibly well done, and i am currently reiviewing it in Alpha. No crashes or major bugs, MP support functions, and the game itself...it is genuinely more than a little scary at times, getting important resources is not easy, but loot drops are also plentiful. you are rewarded for exploring thusly, if you can keep yourself alive.

on the last note, it's also very hard. i thought that blocking the doors and windows up in a house i was hiding in would give me time to craft some things, and then they started breaking through the walls in three places. no rest for the wicked.

a complex but easy to grasp resource system, lots of excellent usability features and concepts all around and a very very nice UI / HUD (for a transportation / resource management game, i find their UI is often very poorly done), BEAUTIFL graphics...I love playing this game competetively against friends and AI, but I also find I love playing in a very easy game mode where I can basically just build aesthetically pleasing settlements. The underwater mechanic is also extremely well done and very interesting.

My only gripe is that the two "sides" are pretty contrived and extremist...you're either insanely anti-environment or pro-environment, it would be nice to have some intermediate or other teams to play, but honestly it's not much of a complaint, it fits the overall theme of the game really well.

the two teams also play completely differently, which is very refreshing - most games would take the easy way out and just make a carbon copy for a new team and only change the visual aspects, but they are literally different in almost every way, from the resources you collect, to how your tech trees expand, down to your individual units.

i recommend this to ANYONE who likes any kind of resource management, transportation, combat-lite, etc. fantastic game, worth every penny.

great game, but we got this purely for MP Co-op, but no MP game saves pretty much killed it for us
