Cute game. More on the casual side, but jazzes up the usual city builder with the threat of occasional invaders. Needs more late-game mechanics.

As someone who did everything 1.0 had to offer:

An okay game; an artistic and narrative triumph for gaming.

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY: Shadow Warrior Classic Redux
by JunkStar

PROS:
✭Crude humor and one-liners
✭"Wanton Destruction" is a great campaign
✭Smooth revision of a classic. No big changes or problems.

CONS:
✭Crude humor and one-liners
✭Most campaigns have sloppy level design an aesthetics
✭Multiple enemy types are tedious rather than challenging

FINAL DECISION: I can see why Shadow Warrior never lived up to Duke Nukem. It has the Duke feel, it doesn't have the Duke quality. While 3 of the 4 episodes were a painful experience, "Wanton Destruction" was, for the most part, very well done. If all four episodes lived up to that standard, this would have my recommendation for sure. Unless you are really into retro shooters like Duke Nukem, I wouldn't bother with this title.

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY: Rogue Legacy
by JunkStar

PROS:
✭Challenging, but has a nice character progression
✭Optional "Neo" bosses for the worthy
✭Both enemies and character classes feel unique
✭Innovative gameplay- progressing your character through lineage has been masterfully accomplished

CONS:
✭Difficulty can be intimidating to the casual gamer
✭Lineage feels less specialized as you can buy most every skill in New Game +
✭Some classes are generally useless in NG++ and beyond

FINAL DECISION: Buy. This. Game. As far as Castlevania-esque dungeon crawlers go, this one is unique. Progression through your lineage is well done. It's an absolute blast. Oh- don't be confused by the "Rogue" part of the title. There are several classes to play from. :)

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY: Gunpoint
by JunkStar

PROS:
✭Killer soundtrack
✭Stylish animations
✭Great dialogue
✭Level editor

CONS:
✭Too short of a game (beat the game twice AND got every achievement in 4.5 hours!)
✭WAY too short of a game
✭Did I mention this game was too brief?

FINAL DECISION: I love the premise. I love the mechanics. I love the writing and the style. I don't like finishing a game twice and completing every side achievement in only 4.5 hours. Needs more meat!

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY: TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER® HD
by JunkStar

PROS:
✭Nostalgia! Maps and mechanics are authentic
✭Graphics are a big improvement over anything emulated
✭Controls feel tight
✭Includes memorable maps from THPS 2+

CONS:
✭A heap of missing features from the original games, including:
-Seriously nerfed soundtrack (~10 songs)
-No custom soundtrack
-No custom characters
-No multiplayer
-No map editor
✭Buggy: Frequent clipping problems and freezing most notable
✭Not enough content

FINAL DECISION: After getting every single achievement, I can say the game is too brief for a single player game. Without multiplayer (there isn't even local multiplayer) or the wonderful map editor, there just isn't enough content to justify the game. On sale: yes, absolutely buy it.

It's a shame because there is so much potential on steam to utilize multiplayer and map editors. :(

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY: LUFTRAUSERS
by JunkStar

PROS:
✭Beautifully stylized
✭Catchy modular soundtrack changes based on the loadout of your plane
✭Controls feel tight
✭Challenging missions

CONS:
✭Unlock everything within 2 hours
✭"Missions" are really just challenges within the same, one level of the game
✭Besides an unlocked, more intensive game mode, there are no other significant features to this game

FINAL DECISION: Buy it on sale. $3-5 seems well worth the experience, not $10. It's just not enough game/dollar.

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY: Organ Trail: Director's Cut
by JunkStar

PROS:
✭Classic graphics and user interface
✭Multitude of strategies available on low/mid difficulties
✭Catchy soundtrack
✭Funny/clever encounters on the road

CONS:
✭Few viable strategies on harder difficulties
✭In town missions feel repetitive compared to traveling encounters
✭Boss fights are more "memorized" than challenging

FINAL DECISION: Debatable whether the experience is genuinely good, but the game is only five bucks. I give it a weak recommendation.
