Saw a popular point and click streamer play this, and was immediately drawn in by the art style, sound design, and story.

Couldn't wait for them to play it again the next week, I had to see what happened next. Was not disappointed!

There is a lot to love and a lot of things feel great, it is a civ game after all. However, the way religion works in Civ 6 just sticks out as a sore point for me. Fixed that problem by turning religious victories off and the game got much better.

My problem with religion is the fact that it seems to opperate independently from all of the other systems. Improving your civ's culture, science, production, GPT, food, luxury and stratigic resources makes sense since it is useful in helping with any other victory. Religion and faith just seem to be tacked onto the side of everything and isn't really helpful in any other meaningful way. There's some minor perks that can help everything else, but you'll end up on a treadmill of focusing on faith for faith's sake. You have to focus your attention into making sure the world's religion is constantly not skewed one way or the other. If you're not careful you may end up hitting the next turn button and find out you lost the game because in the middle of your conquest you took one too many cities worshiping another civ's religion.

Diplomacy victories in Civ 5 felt scummy, but at least you knew where you stood in the world congress 10 turns prior to the vote and it waited until the modern era before taking you out back behind the shed.

Fantastic game, plays just like how I remembered it. I love the combination of Civ mechanics with Age of Empire game play. The HD revamp also makes this game look just as good as I remember. tenoutaten.
