Having grown up playing isometric RPGs like dungeon siege, diablo, fallout... etc. Lost Ark really hit home for me. I played WoW for 16 years and I honestly thought there would never be an MMO that could satisfy that game category. I'm short of 200 hours, didn't play Beta but am pleasantly surprised at a relatively successful full release. There's was bound to be bugs like any game, and luckily the devs were on it... Maybe a little too much, considering there was back to back maintenance nights over 4 hours long.

Despite that, let's get into the game a bit. There's several classes to boot, each with a sub class that is finalized upon selection. Some sub classes are gender lock which is kind of lame, but I get it. How're you going to be a Gunner Artillery class as a woman holding what looks like a 200lbs cannon, blowing up baddies.
Kidding aside, there's a lot of opportunity for each class and the talent points you choose for your abilities. You've a limited amount of points you receive from leveling up, but can receive even more by completing quests or achievements. This makes for an interesting range of combinations - the effort you put into your PVE gameplay will show in dungeons, raids and mostly in world pvp zones. Not so much in PVP battlegrounds because they're balanced and limited on skill points that you'll set up for TDM, DM etc.
Back to the skills; some classes have stances which can be changed on whim which a new variety of abilities. Some have one stance with an overpower function, with plenty of abilities in the spell book that can be changed at any time.
Leveling up those abilities offers extra perks, damage modifiers, hold timer reductions, CC.. you name it. Later on in the story, glyphs for extra perks and inscriptions will be introduced. Even more modifiers to love!

Aside from the combat which is pointer directional based, most of it's pretty fluid! As a Gunner, it's clunky sometimes but that's alright. Par for the course, bullets don't curve! :)

There is a massive amount of content that is readily available about the time you hit lvl 35 (receiving your ship!) and 50, which can be achieved pretty quickly if you blow through the story! The story is a bit mundane, I chose to blow through it... and I don't feel I've missed anything too important. There's quite a few mechanics and upgrade systems that the story will help unfold. If you miss something, there's guides throughout major cities where you can review tutorials... and of course there's google too. The level cap is level 60, once you hit 50 XP required to level quadruples if not more. I believe lvl 49 to 50 was like 945k XP. 50-51 is 43.5 million XP. This gives you plenty of time to do loads of content before capping out, I honestly don't think anyone has hit 60 as far as I know at the time I'm writing this review.

If you're a completionist junkie, you'll love what PVE has to offer. There's so many collectibles and extra missions that yield tons of bonus items to be used in battle, mounts, glyphs and tons of currency used for a wide variety of resources.

There are some trade skills in game that everyone gets, and it's a bit unique in it's own way. Everything you harvest - plants, lumber, ore, meats is all stored in it's own inventory and is virtually infinite. There is a crafting system but it's not particularly a trade skill. Once you receive your stronghold, there's a plethora of things that can be crafted - mainly potions or battle items. Armor and weapons are utilized NPC systems in major cities. You'll need gold and materials obtained from both harvesting and mostly high tier dungeons and raids. Silver is the staple currency received in game. Gold is mostly earned from events, selling items on the market or other forms of currency exchange. Gold received from events is typically on the low yield, that's where some of the grind comes in for top tier items. No one ever said it would be easy, unless you want to buy it of course!

This is a F2P game, but doesn't really feel that way. Yes, if you want skins for your armor or mounts, pets, currency etc. You can absolutely purchase those. There's some XP booster packs you can purchase as well, but with how many quests and events there are.. you might not need it. I don't feel like shelling out that kind of money, but maybe you will?

To those reading, try not to get hung up on negative reviews for this game. Give it a try, it's free to play. I'm certain you'll be pretty content with what they have to offer!

Happy hunting.

Alpha stage Rust meets Killing Floor? Anyone? For a two man development team, I think they've done a great job so far. The game isn't perfect, of course. However, it's still fun to play. I only wish the online community were a little bigger so raiding would be more fun. I like the direction they're going with this and I really hope they keep adding content. I'd like to see this game grow, as well as the community.

While the 39 second gameplay video might make this game utterly tantalizing, I advise against purchasing this game. If there ever was a bigger piece of garbage, this would be on top. While the gameplay seems very striking and the visuals (now updated) might seem gorgeous, it lacks in community and gameplay. There is no room for expansion if you are just coming into this game. You are completely surrounded by #@!holes who ruin this game for any new beginners. If you purchase this game, no one is your friend. No one will help you and no one will provide you with supplies. I suggest if you do buy this to watch online tutorials and or get your friends to play this so you can create a community. This game is swamped with people who will degrade you and make you want to reach through the screen and strangle them. I've heard nothing short of being called "dog" and reading sentences like "If you want into this group and town, you'll bow and do as we say." I mean what kind of a game promotes this trash? DO not waste your money, unless you want to be licking the underside of someones boot until you get on your own two feet, who's to say you won't get shot in the back or taken out by another group anyway?

I give this game 1/10. Not only are you surrounded by trolls and survival being near impossible, there are no admins to control the chaos of cheap trolls, bandits and thieves, and worst of all... Hackers. Yes that's right, Imagine dying in one hit from someone flying overhead. Or imagine being on the complete opposite side of the map and BAM! Insta-death. There are also stories of corrupt admins utilizing their god modes and raiding your small home or even large communities.

There are other very intriguing stories to be read on negative reviews. I would suggest reading everything you can about this game before you give this crappy project of a game any money. The developers don't care about their players. They want your money.
