Weihnachten ist durch, der Jahreswechsel steht kurz bevor. Mein einziger Wunsch für 2021: Endlich wieder völlig frei und uneingeschränkt draußen rumstromern zu können.

Bin seit gut 6 Monaten stolzer Besitzer eines DELL Optiplex 740 von 2007. Ich weis, Ich weis, ist bei Weitem nicht mehr die stärkste Hardware. Aber verdammt, was man nach gut 13 Jahren trotzdem noch auch diesem Gerät herausgequetscht bekommt, wenn man ein paar Upgrades vornimmt, ist mehr als bemerkenswert. Wer den aktuellen Upgrade-Status wissen will: Ich muss nochmals den Prozessor, die Grafikkarte & weil es sich gerade anbietet, auch die Soundkarte upgraden. SSD, zusätzliche RAM-Chipsätze & Windows 10 sind bereits installiert. Außerdem sollen noch ein paar Quality-of-Life-Upgrades zum Schluss vorgenommen werden. Bessere Lüfter sowie Dockingstations für USB 3.0, SD-Karten (Standard & Mikro) und für 2.5/3.5 Festplatten. Letztere sind besonders hilfreich, da man mit ihnen nicht mehr den PC öffnen muss, um Festplatten auszuwechseln.
