If you are photosensitive: there's currently a bug where getting covered in orange gel makes the screen flash green. Be careful.

Mapping is absolutely excellent quality. Very high fidelity, beautiful scenes to take in. It really feels like a next-generation Portal.

Puzzles are hit and miss. Some of them are really good, others are big rooms with not much in them, or test elements that don't feel fully utilized. Introduces a VERY COOL new mechanic in a4 and doesn't do too much with it!!! Augh!! i want to play with this more!!

The writing... had to grow on me lol.

Feel like i'm criticizing a lot but I think this is an awesome release and I can't believe it's a free mod. Excellent way of showcasing what the new engine can do.

It Has A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Field Of View Slider. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The next generation of portal2 is here

The Witness is one of my favorite puzzle games ever, but like, if there's any puzzle game that deserves a little fun being poked at it, it's The Witness

Great game! Unfortunately it's published by Activision.

I almost wrote off this mod because "lmao portal 2 time travel, haha, never seen that one before" - if you've been on the workshop for more than 5 minutes you'll know. But oh my god, this one really takes the concept and runs like hell with it. Things that happen in the past implicate things in the future! It's the time travel map to end all time travel maps, and the one Portal 2 deserves. Maybe this concept can finally be put to rest.

Maps start off decently challenging and stay hard all of the way through. I can tell that custom mappers are going to have a field day with this mechanic. Difficulty curve is a bit bumpy, or maybe I just suck. I'll allow it.

There was one section where I was told I solved the test in the wrong timeline and got redirected to the correct one. I didn't realize it was *actually* a bug until later, and thought the narrator was just screwing with me, haha.

Note that the menus are a bit jank - the "developer console" option was (accidentally?) removed so you have to start with -console to get it, and there is no bindable Toggle Zoom key (because it was commandeered for the third portal)

For a game based around jumping, it's pretty embarrassing that the jump button only works maybe 45% of the time.

Oh and it's basically all jumping. What little puzzles there are are garbage, and the maps are all hastily thrown together with Z-fighting in the walls and even out-of-bounds holes in some of them. Not worth your time.

It's hard to recommend this on the grounds of it being a good puzzle game, it's not like Portal or The Witness or anything. It is a great adventure game though. It's a little slow-paced, and there's a lot of loading screens, but I had a great time with it. (Just like, know what you're getting yourself into.)

Sounds like I'm complaining a lot so what did I like? Well, it's like Myst but they leaned even harder into the worldbuilding (this is my take after playing Myst for the first time last week). There's a lot of reading, note-taking, and piecing together events that happened before you arrived. It's a fun activity. This is also the second-ever puzzle game I grabbed some scissors and made a paper model of one of the puzzles.

I did have to look a few things up, but apart from one, they weren't puzzle solutions that were mega off-the-wall, just things i didn't notice. Missed a staircase, missed a method of interacting with an object, failed to trace a power cable etc etc. I would play with a mindset of not feeling bad about looking things up.

Something I heard was that this game had a kinda rushed development cycle towards the end. It... kinda shows. But again I still like what is there. It's good! It's not a game I can give a blanket "everyone should play this" recommendation to, but I liked it.

It's Myst!

Good port of a game that's old enough to drink. Uses ScummVM, so if you want to change the pixel scaling and stuff, you can look up the ScummVM keypresses to do so.

The puzzles are, well, for better or for worse... it's Myst

folks i think this game might be about a capitalist dystopia or something,,, i dunno,,,,, it's a little bit subtle,,,,,,,,,,

it's an alright romp. it's not like a Groundbreaking Puzzle Platformer or anything but it was a pretty enjoyable 2.8 hours and i had a good time with it. it's not very difficult
