Early Access Review
You get to have your own drill, a mobile base for all your crafting needs with the need to defend is aswell against increasingly difficult enemies the further/deeper you progress. The gunplay is fine, feels like a 2010 game to be honest, but it is still charming!

This game is definitely a hidden gem! It reminds me so much of Project Nomads (2002) having to build automated defences attached to your drillship.

Would really like for this game to be procedural with procedural landing sites, the game already has a good foundation for it (respawning enemies and resource nodes aswell as villages/mines looking like they are a spawnable POI)

AoE DE "Easy" difficulty is deceptive. It is too hard. I just want to play for nostalgia, but that wont happen it seems. You have to hotkey spam, use every ounce of resources and minmax everything even on easy.

60% of maps I cant get to day 13 because a zombie slipped through my patrols (patrols that covers bottlenecks). 39% of the maps I cant win day 13 because there are just too many HUGE openings that I cannot get enough wood to cover. I've been able to complete 1 map since I owned this game. Its just too many restarts to get a good run, you need to play a map PERFECTLY each time otherwise its a restart, there is no leeway and that's worth a negative review. Would refund if I could.

Hate that maniaplanet exists, hate that "planets" ingame currency exists, hate that you have to purchase all 3? TM2 games seperataly (this hampers map sharing and co-op play to an extreme extent),hate that the steam install is just a launcher - then the game "updates" when you launch it (updates a lot slower than the speed at which steam would have been able to download it). Hate that you have to purchase "slots" first before you are able to install more games LOL (but luckily I think this is mostly dealt with as I had 11 slots? (more than the number of trackmanias) Hilerious. Otherwise the music, sfx, graphics and the actual gameplay is nice.

Would you recommend this game to other players? Difficult question, personally feel this is a expertly crafted game unlike anything I've played before. Everything works so well, visuals, music, lore (Altera Corp, etc) and gameplay. Speaking from the perspective of finishing a hardcore playthrough, it was intense, scary and sometimes downright frightening. Then again, other times it was serene and beautiful that made you glad you are putting yourself through the horror. I don't know who the game is from a softcore perspective

Not too good with reviews so I am just listing thoughts as the come...

A entirely malevolent and greedy company (yes "all companies", but Gaijin implements greedy measures and doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the community). A Game that gives you "boosters" but as soon as you activate them, the matchmaker puts you in the most difficult games and a (Edit's note: Oxy confirmed this is confirmation bias) team full of one-death quitters (you can always respawn at least once, and if you get some points, 3-4 times, if not more), forcing you to lose the match and the booster. It's free to play, but for the first 500 hours of the game, if you don't get good, or get a premium vehicle, you will lose money quick when you run out of achievements that reward money.

Gaijin also balances the vehicles according to how well they do statistically. What this means is, if a tank does poorly, they "balance" it to a lower tier, meaning now Pro-players now use the tank to join lower tier matches and kill everyone.

Every Major update masks the worst and greedy changes with some exciting new feature.

No player-rank-based matchmaking, meaning teams can be entirely lobsided with pro players vs. new plays. Also, if you are new, can still match you on difficult maps that can be extra annoying. Just got your first plane? Map full of AI AA that shoots you down in a few seconds.

Changes game mechanics often without explaining them and they never update the F1 help menu (like navel for example, taking system changed, F1 still shows old targeting system).

Gaijin still supports "Ultra-low graphics" that hides bushes and fences, giving you 200+fps and making it easy to spot enemies. Super unfair and no way to tell if the other player used ULG mode

Only reason I am still playing is because I havent found a replacement game. When it comes to MMOs I tire out quickly, but war thunder was different

They do not compensate you for anything ever that is their fault... eg. Server issues, you lose time to to tasks, or you lose a wager or a booster, or perhaps you were were playing an expensive tank, money gone. They don't give a ♥♥♥♥. There has NEVER been any compensation in this game in my 2 years of playing. They own the game Crossout, Crossout gives premium compensations. War thunder devs don't even compensate your lost premium time or "login streak" due to their server issues.

WT has twitch drops also, but ♥♥♥♥ you if you aren't ligitimitely watching the entire time, since in WT you have to watch your twich inventory to claim the drop the second you get it, otherwise you get 0 progression towards the next drop

I have not played any DLC of Rimworld just because to me Rimworld (Base game, imho v1.2.3005 is best) is such a good game already, and mods take it to the next level. However, after backing up saves and modlists, I was excited to give Ideology a try, and so far it has not been great. Ideology is just essentially taking what you would normally roleplay your colony as, (eg. cannibals and nudist) and turning it into a religion that your tribe follows. You can leave most settings "Free", meaning it has 0 impact on the tribe, or you can pick 1 of a few levels on which it impacts your tribe, from most negative to most positive. Ideology also makes starting a new game a very lengthy process if you have a very specific role you want your tribe to play, and at this point, the mod "Map reroll" is an essential mod, since you only get to see the map you spawn on at the very end after configuring your entire setup. I am not sure if this is since v1.3 of the game, but the act of Planting seeds has now been moved to the "Grow" task, meaning, you cannot use unskilled colonists to plant your farms anymore, since they will now also botch harvests when the time comes.

A very shallow story and very shallow mechanics. There are plenty of pointless things in this game, making you wonder why they exist, for example shops and the city management/building. Items drop very regularly, you have an infinite inventory from what I can see, making shops and workshops (where you upgrade gear) useless. Playing on Hard, you still deal way enough damage to not have to care about the enemy's elemental resistances. Just slash a fire slime with a burning sword, makes no differance. The false feature where you build your city they might as well remove and make it part of the story (gets built upon return from adventure for example). You cannot pick your kingdoms location, you cannot pick the name (understandable) and you cannot pick the locaiton of your shops/workshops that you build... Pointless for that to be in the game.

What I do like from this game is the fighting system and the overworld exploration.

Story is very lackluster and childish (yes I know, Evan is a child) and his entire band of companions see Evan as the ultimate king, but no kingly decisions are made by him...
