Fun game with a good atmosphere but I think it's a bit overrated. I still recommend it because it's fun, but with the System Shock Remake coming out and modernizing the original System Shock whilst still practically keeping it as the same game (to the point where you can follow old guides and they still work for the most part), I think that the original System Shock is much better. Though, granted, this is an original game. I can still respect what it did, but be warned that it can be a bit more frustrating than I found the first one to be (even in the "original" enhanced edition).

The game was probably good at the time, but the skill system can be a bit frustrating; though it does promote replaying the game, but not necessarily for a good reason. I also feel like things are a lot more scarce, which builds the horror atmosphere but also makes it a lot harder to actually take in the game with how frustrating the combat can be at times when you are limited on your weapons and ammo because you gotta balance your cyber modules.

Good and interesting remake which modernizes the look and controls of the original game (in a whole new engine, of course) whilst keeping roughly the same layout and progression choices. Involves lots of backtracking and careful reading/listening if you aren't going to be looking anything up.

No ultrawide support and my first impressions are the game not working and then the game deciding to crash after giving a jumpscare for not realizing I needed to specifically press space at this dark screen it leaves you at which you can't leave by pressing arrow keys (what I was doing).

Game seems okay, but it is nonetheless an arcade platformer which I do not like, but I'd maybe still recommend it if it weren't for the weird issues I was having with ultrawide.

Early Access Review
Seems promising and is more aesthetically-neutral than other upcoming potential Sims competitors such as Life By You or Paralives. Also has workshop support and good API documentation.

good but has some loophole things which i've never really liked which let you get super far without much effort; like taking out huge loans in daggerfall from the smallest district and never coming back for the next year. a remake or reimagining of this game would be cool if some of this stuff was thought out and we maybe got a system where the player isn't able to jump between 100s of networks with flawless connection speeds.

game still functions well on windows 10 as of 2023.

very fun reimagining of hl1 that also takes the liberty of fixing confusing plotholes from the transition to hl1 (and blueshift/opposing force) to hl2

good but lacks info on items which becomes tedious; however, this can be fixed once you reach a certain point in the game fairly early on where it lets you use modifications and still earn achievements and progress
