What should I be looking for when upgrading my Uplink computer? I know enough about computers to know that memory doesn't mean storage but which is more mechanically useful, processing or memory?

I'm getting bad audio, sounds like static, I hear the music but it sounds really bad, reminds me of old audio back in the 90's day...

I barely remember when I was a kid, maybe in the bonus CD or on uplink site, a .doc file with a bonus story about two hacker kids in BBS times, who managed to hack into some corporate system and got caught in the end, but managed to blame their school bullies instead. Anyone remembers anything like that? I searched the bonus CD and the game files but couldn't find anything related....
