Immediately enjoyable music-wise with David Wise as the composer, gorgeous environment and a charming (though silent) enough duo for the protagonists. The gameplay is immediately unique and managed to keep my interest throughout.

The controls are somewhat difficult to learn, and possibly by the time you're comfortable the game seems to throw stages at you in complete random that feel WAY harder than where you should be. There's one level specifically in the wind stages I swear the guy that developed it was a masochist! Abruptly you're hit with an insanely difficult level, then the one right after is a breeze? Hah!

I'd recommend it absolutely though, only wish they'd continue to develop a sequel perhaps.

Superb gameplay, music, atmosphere, don't remember much about the story (though that doesn't seem to be the focus of these games). Enjoyed everymoment of it, never had an issue up into the BFD room as you go to acquire the weapon. I got the game for free when I purchased my radeon rx 480 and forwhatever reason, that SPECIFIC room would make the game crash.

I think it was linked only to that card, but eventually things clicked and I acquired the weapon and moved on to completion... Not sure what happened there, shouldn't be a problem for others I'd say!

In all seriousness, first of all, wait for sales on the game I'd say. Sorry Playtonic but it isn't worth $40.

Camera and controls I never had issues with, granted this may have to do with me using a Steam controller (bottom triggers set to allow me to snap camera with ease), and though it took a LOT of time-- I did actually find the character movement to be spot on for platforming. I actually had most of my fun in the end when everything seemed to click and I could zip around with ease, how unfortunate!

Yooka, Laylee, and Trowzer, and the worlds they inhabit I adore and will continue to be memorable, beyond that, the rest can be forgotten. Dr. Quack is an interesting design, but his abysmal trivia games conflicted my interest-- Capital B got a little on my nerves after awhile with his 'taunting' throughout the hub worlds, seems too frequent.

The game otherwise has tons of fun, then LONG boring moments, and it becomes a rollercoaster seemingly at world 2 that made me take lots of breaks for other games. But overall I think it sticks true to what they were shooting for. Music is awesome, and I'd be willing to collect the rest of the pagies and quills, as well as play the DLC when that comes out.

Also maybe it's just me, but I really loath Dr. Puzz and Vendi's character designs... I just can't stand either of them, sorry!
