Some of the best graphics and map designs I've ever seen; one could argue why the need of UE5 instead of Croteam's own engine, but for a puzzle game, not a shooter, I don't mind 30 FPS and some pixelation because FSR upscaling.
More importantly, the game it's incredible huge, there are many, many puzzles (even of the kind of Talos 1), and the history connects almost perfect with the first game, while having it's own sauce, fun, and mistery.
Croteam + Devolver Digital first real win.

Best VN I played since Steins;Gate or Planetarian.
It is exactly what I wanted, that I didn't know I did, and I hope the second season get's translated when it's done.

Most fun and innovative Final Fantasy after VII. The last game of the saga is peak Final Fantasy battle system.

DREDGE, easily in the top 3 GOTY for me. Can't wait for the sequel.
Fishing, trading, management; the game has so many secrets you can tell it was made with love.

As writing this review, Pentinent has become definitely my personal 2023 GOTY, even if it came out in November of 2022 -I began playing it on April 2023, it is definitely a journey. It could easily be the best work Obsidian has made, the teachings are all shown in a pragmatic way, so every little piece of information is welcome -not to mention the fascinating storytelling. Pentinent shines in a simple, yet deeply way.

This game won me over because it check many boxes none other game does, and it clearly checks them.
The atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for, an adult, realistic, depiction of a driver from a city, Paris in this case, that has everything, from very dark places. to bright and shiny plazas.
The dialog you get to have with the passengers, is great, and except some exceptions that I don't know why the developers decided it was a good idea to add, it's on point. You also have frequently options on how to act, from saying something cheerful, cold, etc; to say nothing and let the passengers maybe speak by themselves. Open up. Or not.
Finally, the UI is very straightforward, you always have a real map of where are yo driving in Paris, and it's just very well done, with some cinematics that helps add some noiresque tone to everything.

The game actually has a story, and it's good enough to try to solve without any guide (nor in game and I meant to not search outside it). It has some flaws, but they are overwhelmingly shadow by all the pros.
Almost a hidden jewel.

As I thought, this game is something else. This game will have the tag Visual Novel, but it has it's own genre. Perfect translation. Works perfect on Proton. It's very entertaining and it is a novel game. Can't wait for updates.

Exquisite and very underrated adventure-puzzle game. It's really an epic and beautiful journey, where you'll get you'll have to get your hand dirty and move a lot to continue steadily, which I know it contrasts with the "relaxing journey" thing, but you have to play it to understand what I mean.
