Well polished, old-school, 2-D Sprite Action Platformer developed by Inti Creates. That is already good, but if you're especially missing that Gothic Horror Fantasy Soup that is Castlevania, this is the game for you.

Mega Man X/Zero, but Rouge-like.

Also the Datalores are hilarious.

Sentinels of the Multiverse. Or, "Marvel and DC comics with the Serial Numbers filed off: The Card Game"

And I mean that in the most affectionate way possible.

Because the game does affectionately use comic tropes and characters to create a very fun game. And since this is a Video Game adaptation of a board game, there is no need to worry about tracking health, attack and defense debuffs, turn order, etc. because the game takes care of it for you.

And there is a lot to this game, with 10 heroes that each play differently, 4 villains with different ways to end your life and rule the world, and 4 environments to fight on, there is a lot of scenarios for you and your friends to go through, like fighting a Mad Scientist on Mars, stopping a Galatic Warlord's invasion on Earth, stopping a rampaging robot factory... in Atlantis?!

However, as good as the base game is, Season 1 will multiply that tenfold, bringing that total of Heroes to a little over 20, and over 20 villains (including Evil Superman, Eldritch God of Despair, a Time-travelling Pirate and her crew from across time, and Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds: The Villain deck), and expands the environments to over a dozen places to fight in.

Season 2 adds a variant on the base game mode: instead of a team of Heroes against a singular villain, now it's a Hero Team vs. Villain Team battle! Now the forces of Team Fortress 2, Ghostbusters and their Pet Rat, Future-Past-Pirate, The Juggernaut Train, Reverse Flash and more can team up to fight you and your friends! These villains are their own seperate category from the base game villains, but they can be freely grouped up with their fellow Team Villains. However, I have to recommend that you get both SOTM: Vengeance and Villains of the Multiverse (or get Season 2, which will give you both and the upcoming OblivAeon expansion and the rest of the mini-expansions,) because this Team Villain mode can be a bit boring when you only have the same 5 villains to choose from.

2018 Awards Update: With the Physical card game finally receiving OblivAeon, and this game getting Benchmark, Stuntman, and Void Guard Sentinels with only their verison of OblivAeon left to finish, this game is MASSIVE. Now you too play as and with the embodiment of Action Films, Corperate Cyborg, Heavy Metal Biker, against Lady Magneto on a giant sword ship that will judge you for your sins.

If you asked me sometime before October 2015 of what I thought about Payday 2, I would've given it a glowing review, that it's a great multiplayer shooter.

If you asked me mid-October 2015 and I would've been full of piss and vinegar about the game, and tbh, so would the majority of the Payday 2 community. So what happened that made a radical 180 degree turn in opinion that still scars the game's review scores today? Simply put, Overkill tried to put in CS:GO/TF2 style crate and key (or safe and drill) microtransaction system into the game... in a game that has literally over $100 worth of DLC already. To salt the wound, some of the skins that you would obtain from this Safe and Drill system sometimes had Stat boosts that would make the gun (though in hindsight only marginally) better than its vanilla, no-skin, counterpart.

To say it wasn't well received would be like saying, "The ocean is wet. And salty."

Now, in the weeks and months that followed, Overkill eventually added drills that could open a safe into the drop system with safes (though the drills were MUCH MUCH rarer. For context, I had only obtained one drill ever since the system was impelemented.) And the previously mentioned stat boosters were also added the item drop system that could be applied to any gun without needing to blow hundreds of dollars on trying to get the correct skin and boost you wanted.

After that, my opinion of the game warmed up to a bit of a mix; on one hand, I couldn't care less about the safe and drill system, but on the other hand the game itself was still good, and I still liked playing with my friends.

And now, as of June 2nd 2016, Overkill has made the move to phase out the old Safe and Drill system, and promised that all future Safes can be opened completely for free. Of all things, I didn't actually believe they would actually do that, and yet, here we are.

Yes, the game has some issues and balance problems, and yes there probably is too much DLC already... But on the other hand... Overkill is actually listening to the people that play their games. Not only that, they're actually making an effort to improve the game and themselves.

Alright Overkill, you have my trust again.

Just Don't Act Dumb.

Everybody's saying that everything is a gun and/or bullets. This is a lie. For example, the Magic Book Enemy is neither a gun, nor a bullet.

0/10, not actually bullets.

Doesn't have Counterstrike Fortress 2 skins that affect stats. Or Counterstrike Fortress 2 skins at all.

At first glance, Terraria can be billed as "2D Minecraft." This is a somewhat fair assement, given similar premise and crafting, but in my opinion, it doesn't fully tell you what Terraria is.

See, the differences between Minecraft and Terraria extends to far more than 3D verus 2D, but also what they focus on. Minecraft focuses mostly on exploration and creativity, while Terraria focuses more on combat mixed with a somewhat Metroid-style progression of upgrades. As a result, you're fighting not only zombies at night, but also disembodied parts of Cthulhu, Flaming Demons deep underground, Mile-long Worms, killer Unicorns, Swamp Things, and even the very enviroment. As you play the game, you'll find more and more varied Swords, Bows, Guns, Magic spells, Armor, and Accessories to help you kill bigger and tougher enemies.

While this is a fun game to play with a friend, the archaic design of typing in their IP address is bothersome. While Terraria also allows for PvP and has items designed for it, the lack of a Creative mode also doesn't allow for easy map-making. Given the Metroid-style progression revolving around exploration and killing things, I do however, see why a Creative mode would not be implimented, since it would take away the effort and therefore the feeling of owning the best and rarest items in the game.

Overall, this is an great game, and can easily suck away your time if you're not careful.
