Most thinking people find it a noxious and obviously political addition to a series that was previously considered the gold standard for historical strategy. This is closer to science fiction than reality, is aggressively against want the fanbase (who, I'd imagine, is nearly 100% nerdy white guys) want, and is just another example of game developers "trying to do the right thing" in an ultimately patronizing and hamfisted attempt at socially revising the past.
