I was willing to overlook:
  • The terrible NERF heavy "balance" patches, with extremely minor buffs to random useless weapons.
  • The absolutely unstable hotfixes. Ive had more hard crashes in this game, than most other releases this year.
  • The terrible communication and stuck up attitude from devs. Meanwhile they cant even clear Diff 6.
  • The inconsistent and unrewarding "meta" game. Randomly planets are taken back and players were not rewarded at all for clearing bots.
  • Optimization steadily decreasing with every single patch. Recent patches i've lost over 40 fps on average compared to 2 months ago.

But to enforce a PSN account to steam, while this game worked perfectly fine without it for over 3 months is just too much. PSN is not even available in my country, so i can not legally make an account. Meanwhile this game is sold on steam.
Crossplay, blocking and all the other excuses they brought worked just fine without any sort of linking before.

Arrowhead falsely got a rep that they are the new "deep rock galactic" level of wholesome devs. Just another incompetent dev team that got lucky with a decent game and slowly ruined it. Thanks Snoy.

A definite must buy if you are a fan of the souls formula.

Takes the best parts of Dark Souls 3 and expands upon them into a lengthy and meaty open world experience.

Disappointing.

The core of a good game, brought down by poor controls that are just way too sticky. In the first hour i can omit atleast 60% of my deaths to getting randomly stuck to the wallrun or just akwardly bouncing off surfaces due to the way wallrun works.

Momentum also feels random at times, getting slowed down for no apparent reason when jumping or performing certain moves on the wallruns.

These not consistent enough controls means you need to constantly use the slowmo to actually dodge bullets against enemies. Slowmo is just a really quick way to kill pacing in fast platforming game like this. Parrying the bullets is possible, but feels pretty inconsistent aswell. Feels like more often that not i get with the death trigger before the actual model of the bullet even hits me, sometimes a seemingly perfect parry turns into a miss.

Decent game with a lot of potential.

Held back by retarded woke devs who try to justify having 20 tickrate servers in 2021. Not worth playing, as you won't get a competitive experience with the current ♥♥♥♥ servers.

The DLC areas and levels themselves are epic and very fun for just 20 dollars. All the new enemy designs are pretty cool and the hammer really helps in most fights. But the sentinel hammer is double-edged blade, as it makes the game a lot easier when you get it. The height of difficulty is still in the Holt Slayer gate in Ancient Gods Part 1.

However, the reason im not recommending this game, is the final boss. Without a single doubt in my mind the final fight was the worst fight ever in the entire doom franchise. It was a complete joke.

No wonder Hugo Martin recently went on record defending the piece of ♥♥♥♥ Marauder design. They literally recycled it for the final boss, making almost no changes, except to make it EVEN more frustrating that it is usually. Not HARD, but incredibly frustrating.
The boss has 5 phases, where he nothing changes except the amount of hounds he summons. The amount of hounds is meaningless, cause the arena is wide and your hammer just smashes them in one hit.

The boss itself is a buggy piece of ♥♥♥♥. He only has one incredibly specific range where you can hurt him (Marauder glowing green eyes is the signal) and then you can hit him, stun him with the Sentinel hammer and go to down. A good Ballista / SSG swapper will have 60% hp gone in one swing. Without the hammer, you'll get 40% of his hp with SSG / Ballista. You try any other weapon combo, prepare to be on this bossfight for 45 minutes. Enjoy the beauty of only being able to use 15% of your entire arsenal of weapons, the ESSENCE OF DOOM.

So why is he the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight in the series? His meele attacks, which he has 2 of, heal him for 60% hp. They arent very dangerous, but they prolong the fight indefinitely. Similar to the marauder, his green attack range is bugged to ♥♥♥♥ and isnt consistent at all. He will do his shield dash instead of the meele attack most of the time. Not to mention the bugged hitboxes on these meele hits, they have incredibly fast cast times that will hit you in 0.1 seconds. The damage is irrelevant, but the heals quickly become annoying.

Occasionally he will just swing at the air, not even doing damage to you, and heal to full. Seems like he sometimes counts your projectiles as hits on you and heals to full.

Now imagine all that put into 5 phases, where you have figured out the gimmick of the fight within the first 30 seconds. It's absolute torture and im baffled how they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up so royally.

If you can forgive the complete ass of a final boss, the rest of the DLC is worth the 20 bucks and is decently fun and engaging. The final fight was just such a massive letdown and fail, that i can't honestly recommend this DLC anymore.

Fun game to burn some time with. Decent with friends and alone.

But it's not viable as a long term game due to the glacial rate of updates and having some really frustrating and annoying levels/mechanics that are not getting patched out any time soon.

The memory fruit matching game is just pointless this far into a game's lifespan.

These concerns are echoed with the rapidly declining playerbase, sadly i think this game will be dead sooner rather than later at the pace things are going, consider this before buying.

Stupid challenges that force you to do the challenges instead of playing normally. F.E. Shoot 300 rounds from a micro uzi in a single round 5 times. It's very unlikely you'll do that naturally. The pass should reward normal play not encourage doing dumb challenges.

The challenges themselves are also grindy and so the placement of the items you get is quite greedy aswell. Obviously this pass was made with the intention of having you buy more levels, not reach most good prizes naturally... The early levels are padded with cheap taunts and stupid rewards, while all the good stuff is higher up.
