I walked into this game expecting it to be horrible. Most of the things I had heard from other XCOM players was that it sucked and that it really wasn't worth the playtime. I got it for free, so I decided, you know what, I'll try it. It can't be that bad. And it wasn't. I really enjoyed the playstyle and combat systems, they reminded me of Mass Effect 2, a game which I loved to pieces. Couple critiques though, weapon damage on head shots was kind bad, and the allied AI was really dumb. The story was solid, no huge or obvious plot holes, although sometimes the way things got solved or figured out seemed dubious. Well, I should say, the story was solid, right up until I got the the part of the game where You find out an ethereal is attached to you, and that you the player are the ethereal.. At that point for me, the story fell to pieces. That being said heres what I though of the game in a Pros and Cons style.

• Easy to use menus

Even with all of that said, I did really enjoy this game to the end, and while the story did lose the draw, it was still and interesting and unique game. If you get a chance to play this game, do it. Its fun game, with some solid concepts. While not the best game ever, it doesn't deserve the bad rap it gets.

This game is great! For a game 10 years old, it still is a viable startegy game with comparable graphics, interesting units, and even a campaign that is decent.
