Heartless and Dreadful is one of my favorite games of the year, hands down. I found it off a discovery listing hot off the heels of Wanted: Dead, another delightfully campy hack and slash game. I figured 7 bucks was no big loss and tried it, instantly my heart melted into the filthy world Shamir and his gang of low lives inhabit. I bounced off the combat for how "floaty" everything felt but gave it a fair shake regardless and fell in love with the amount of movement expression the combat has to it. No sky is too high for Shamir and his growing bag of tricks, and the weapons all feel like fun spins on DMC classics. The platforming brought me back to Shadow The Hedgehog with the bright yellow and red platforms, rails and auto ropes to climb. The story is interesting even if its a bit cliche, and i love how unseriously the game can take itself (the turret section made me die a little inside in a funny way). This game deserves nothing but love from anyone who loves 2000s edge and engaging combat with a skill ceiling way above them.

i put the game on the lowest settings and get 40 fps well above recommend specs. 10/10 would get kicked for packet flooding the piano again.

game is pretty fun for a game that is effectively 15 dollars.

fun gameplay, great soundtrack, straight bullet hell eye candy, easy to mod and multiplayer with NTT is a sinch. A must have bullethell,really.
