Far Cry Primal is a perfect example of how much fun you can have without guns. The Stone Age is a good addition to the Far Cry series with something new in every game. The franchise made a great improvement to the crafting system and weapon stats. This is exactly what the previous games needed. Overall, I enjoyed Primal a lot more than any of the previous games (besides Far Cry 1 and 2) because Primal didn't feel like a chore to complete. The daily resource system is a huge improvement because you don't feel obligated to collect every single loot sack around the map; thus eliminating a useless scavenger hunt for items you don't need. Although the map is recycled from Far Cry 4, you hardly notice it at all because the environment is much different.

The taming system for your animal companions is a great addition to the game. Each beast has different stats depending on your style of play, although, some beasts are not entirely useful as the more elite predators. The scenery is gorgeous and caves are fun to explore. You get to play with fire and feel more primitive with the type of weapons you use. Collectibles are more unique and side quests are more enjoyable and not as repetitive like Far Cry 3 and 4. The side quests may not be 100% unique, but it's a better approach from Ubisoft.

The game is short, which I like because Far Cry 3 and 4 took a lot of time to finish entirely. My only con with Primal is that the story is not as good as the previous games imo. This time you face two antagonists, but the story is simple for a 10,000 BC style game which is to be expected. "Kill and Conquer" pretty much sums up Far Cry Primal.

Far Cry Primal is a lot of fun and draws you in a lot more than where some of the previous tittles in the franchise failed to reach more playability. Primal isn't forced upon you and isn't such a drag to complete, which is why I give this game a fair rating of 8.9/10

Far Cry 4 is a long journey. If you want to explore every detail of Kyrat, collect every single loot chest, and finish all side quests, the game will take time. This game took me 7 months to complete having limited time to play per week.

Far Cry 4 is a step above Far Cry 3 with improved mechanics that make it a fun and enjoyable game. They both share a lot of similarities. Far Cry 4 is unique in it’s own way compared to its predecessor. The environment is a breath of fresh air, with snowy environments, and mountainous terrain. The Far Cry series can take any direction it wants when it comes to the setting, but in my opinion the jungle terrain in previous games is a signature to what makes Far Cry, Far Cry. Story wise, I think it wasn’t too bad. Protagonist: Much better developed and much better personality than the character from the 3rd game. The character has more of a background story with a sense of purpose playing as a character with self-importance. Antagonist: Pagan Min is like-able, witty, and different. In my opinion it’s hard to say if he’s better or worse than Vaas from Far Cry 3. Although Pagan doesn’t appear much in the game, his dialogue is much more in-depth.

You will have many of the same weapons from Far Cry 3, but there’s an array of additional new weapons as well.

My one problem with the game is that when you progress further the side quests and searching for loot chests will get very repetitive. When you finish completing tasks to unlock signature weapons or max out your Karma, the Karma Events and side quests (cargo truck for example) are useless. This is the only downfall to this game. Most quests and events are essentially useless after completing them. I came across many side quests where there is no point in earning extra money when your wallet is almost full. It’s risk without reward. This is something that needs work in future Far Cry games.

The environment is more hostile compared to Far Cry 3. Animals are more viable to attack you which makes you more cautious of your surroundings.

Valley of the Yetis DLC is not too bad and worth buying if you want to extend your adventure in Far Cry 4. The graphics are good and it’s a good standalone expansion with its own “feel” compared to the normal campaign.

Far Cry 4 was fun and enjoyable, but I definitely feel that after all the time I put into completing everything that it’s time to put it to rest and move on to the next game. 7.9/10

Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad game at all, but the whole 80s theme just didn't do it for me. The game gets a bit repetitive. There's not really a whole lot to do. Visually it's amazing! The game is a neon light show. Blood Dragon is definitely not your typical Far Cry game, but it's still fun. It's basically a standalone addition to Far Cry 3. I like that the game pays homage to The Terminator, but I guess overall I'm just not an 80s guy. The campaign is pretty short, but tbh you're much better off buying this game instead of getting the DLC for Far Cry 3. 7/10

Far Cry 3 returns to the jungle environment like the first game. The graphics look better than the original, however, I still prefer Far Cry 1 and 2 overall. For me this is one of those games that you can't really fall back on and play through again a 2nd time. After you beat it once and find all of the loot, weapons, and items, there isn't anything left to do at all. The DLC was sort of a letdown and was lacking as far as the amount of content, and the extra missions were way too short.

Let me also mention that this game probably has one of the worst protagonist I've ever seen in any game. You're basically just a preppy college kid with no training in combat or any military background. The character doesn't feel memorable or very likable to play as. The story takes you in a lot of different directions. There are some good twists here and there and has it's moments, not to mention a great antagonist (Vaas) Personally, this game felt too "mainstream" because of the new route the Far Cry games are heading.

Regardless, it's still a great game. It's fun to play and I personally enjoyed the new stealth elements of the game and also the hunting. You can definitely kill a lot of time and play the game the way you choose, but I don't find myself playing the campaign over again more than once. 7.5/10

At the time I had a lot of anticipation for a Far Cry sequel and speculation about the game being made by a new developer. Much to my surprise, this game was actually pretty good considering I am a die hard fan of the very first Far Cry. I'd say this is the best Far Cry game out of the newer sequels. Even though a lot of gameplay mechanics have changed and are much different from the original, Far Cry 2 was not bad at all. I enjoyed it a lot. The campaign is non-linear in certain aspects and you have freedom of choice in a much more open-world style of gameplay. I definitely give this game a better rating than Far Cry 3 and 4. There's a nice variety of weapons to choose from of your liking. No fancy red dot sights, scopes, or weapon skins. Just simple iron sights and solid gun play.

This time Far Cry 2 takes a new step in a different setting in the heat of the African wasteland, rather than the lush jungle environment. I think it works out well and it still feels like a Far Cry game. What I love most about Far Cry 2 is how you are able to control the day and night cycle. Each hour on the clock lasts for a while instead of the atmosphere switching over to day/night so quickly. It adds a whole new element of realism to the game.

This game has a lot of great moments and cool characters. Would recommend more than Far Cry 3 and 4. I'd say overall it's a better game. 8.5/10

Far Cry 1 is definitely on my list of top 5 favorite shooters of all time. Graphics still look amazing even up to today's standards. This was the first PC game I ever played. It started my entire PC gaming career, and for that reason I have to give this game extra credit. Far Cry brings back a lot of memories and nostalgia whenever I hear the sound effects and environment of the jungle. What I've always loved most about this game is the sound and "feel" of the guns. I've played a lot of FPS, but Far Cry has a way of making each and every weapon equally satisfying and fun to use. The physics are really well done. The hit detection makes your kills feel very satisfying. This is my main game that I can always fall back on even to this day no matter how old it is.

This game will challenge you. The AI are tough. If you're new to this game then it is no walk in the park. The "Medium" difficulty alone was rough my first time around. I still have my retail copy of this game. With enough experience and improvement I've managed to move up to the higher difficulties in campaign. It's not one of those games where you can jump right into the highest difficulty and expect to do well. To this day I haven't even dared to try "Realism".

This game blends in the role of stealth and action. Most scenarios require you to think of different tactics in order to take out each and every enemy one by one instead of the typical "run and gun" shooter.

Adding new singleplayer Mods and Maps will greatly enhance the fun of this game. CryMods.net is where you need to go to download new levels and content for this game. You just have to know where to put these files in the FarCry directory because this game doesn't support Steam Workshop unfortunately. There are also map editing tools you can download to create your own single player levels.

The sequels to Far Cry are completely different compared to this one; story wise and gameplay wise. I'll always prefer the original Far Cry over the newer ones any day. This is the real Far Cry experience. I always thought it was disappointing how the sequels do not continue the story of the main character, Jack Carver. He is without question the true protagonist to Far Cry above any of the newer playable characters in the sequels.

Every FPS veteran should know of this game and played it before at least once. If you haven't, I highly recommend buying it. Crytek has developed some of the best games of all time, such as the Crysis series, and Ryse: Son of Rome. Aside from that, it's too bad Crytek abandoned Far Cry and didn't develop the sequels.

I wouldn't feel too skeptical about some of the negative reviews. Do not hesitate to buy this classic. Highly recommend. 10/10.
