It's a good game, I especially enjoy the physics being somewhat realistic. Though it suffers from the same issue most other games of this type suffer from, once you've got enough money there's not really much motivation to continue playing.

Really great game, it's very reminiscent of isometric games from the 90's. Ignore the ideological subversives trying to poison the well, the game is worth the price. I'm excited for the sequel.

Regardless of the joy I feel watching reddit and crybullies impotently seething, this is honestly a really good game and it is worth every cent.

Great little game, addictive, great soundtrack, I only wish it had a sandbox mode without the rush to move to the next sector.

TL;DR I cannot recommend War Thunder. As solid as the base game is the gameplay has been the same for the last 5 years. The devs are greedy, out of touch, and their attitude toward their own player base is repugnant.

In the air you climb for 10 minutes to try get an altitude advantage over the enemy team, fight for 5 minutes until the enemy are all dead or if any of the attackers/bombers have been successful then you'll win by ticket drain. This has been the air gameplay since I started playing in 2013, and it still persists.

On the ground, you are spawned in with your team mates and then you go capture some magical white circles (sometimes 3 circles, sometimes 1) until the enemy are all dead or they run out of tickets. This has been the tank game since it was introduced. Not very exciting playing the same thing for years on end to be honest.

To top off the stagnant gameplay, the devs who initially said "we aren't the greedy bastards here" have persistently been making the economy and progress through it, a massive grinding chore. By reducing the amount of Research Points earned per action, having a soft cap on Research Points (meaning the better you play the less RP you'll gain) and retro-actively increasing the prices of packs/skins/decals this makes playing War Thunder an exercise in frustration and a drain on your wallet. Even with premium time and a premium vehicle the grind is unbearable in the later tiers.

Lastly, they treat the players with contempt and arrogance. Putting out an engine fire or repairing a gun in battle should be a standard feature from a gameplay perspective right ? Apparently not, you'll need to grind these modules out, and in the meantime if you get your engine or cannon shot you may as well suicide because you can't do anything. Apparently asking for these features to be standard modules that don't require grinding 20 games to get is the same as asking for a free top tier tank (they actually said this).

I do not recommend War Thunder.
