I LOVE WATER
okay so i need to talk about water in tf2 because nobody ever does and it's genuinely insane how much of it there is

2fort has that iconic pool under the bridge and the sewers in both bases

abbey has a frozen river next to point a

afterlife has an underpass with deep water underneath the tall building which feels very wrong

aquarius the entire map is underwater which is insane and should be talked about more

asteroid hides deep water underneath the b point bridges like some kind of secret

atom smash has a big pool under the delivery point AND a small one near the catwalk stairs which feels excessive

bigrock has a gorgeous pool with a waterfall near robot spawn but it's out of bounds which is deeply unfair

blazehattan has a massive ocean surrounding the outer areas but again out of bounds why do they do this to us

bloodwater has blood colored shallow water between checkpoints two and three which is metal as hell

boardwalk drops you through holes in the tracks into crocodile infested water below

cachoeira has shallow water around the helicopter and caves, a lake along the edge of the map, and a pool behind both spawns out of bounds that has a submarine in it. a submarine.

canaveral hides a deep bay of water connected to the ocean right under the central control point

carnival of carnage has a small deep pool at the broken crate area under the ticket pickup

citadel has a stream separating checkpoint c with a drawbridge which is very dramatic

cloak the test map has an entire underwater room connecting two rooms together

cowerhouse has a deep water channel in the center and an underground chasm that tunnels through which is incredible

cursed cove has the sea at the end of the cove and davy jones locker which literally drains and refills with swimmable water and will drown you if you stay too long which is insane

degroot keep has a waterfall flowing into a large lake at the bottom of a gorge which is very pretty

demolition takes place on an oil rig above water so everywhere you look is ocean

devastation has flooded corridors and a flooded room at the bottom of the play space

embargo has ocean below the start of the payload track and also a small hot spa inside a room (VERY NICE!)

enclosure on stage one has two huge waterfalls with a running current below them on the cliffside

eyeaduct has a large body of water with loot island in it and if you fall in you die instantly which is the correct punishment

freaky fair has a small out of bounds river behind the deer cutout climbing a ladder. the deer cutout climbing a ladder.

freight has two big water bodies connecting from both team buildings to a small pool on the other side of the midpoint and you can use it to flank

frostwatch on stage one has a small lake behind a fence near point two, on stage two has big lakes behind both spawns and a small body of water near point b, and on stage three has a river running right outside blu spawn

fulgur has an indoor waterfall wall behind point b and a passageway for point c

ghost fort has skull island surrounded by instant death water

hadal has a sewer with shallow water leading into point c and a deep pool out of bounds under blu spawn

helltrain has a bridge with a river, a lake at the bottom of a canyon, and an entirely underwater section which is just cosmetic but still

lakeside has a small deep pool inside the center building near the control point AND a whole lake next to the middle of the map

mannhole has sewer tunnels completely filled with water underneath the entire map

mannsylvania has a river running under the bridge to dracula's castle which is exactly where a river should be

matterhorn has a hot tub on a perch bordering the pitfall

maul has a pool of water in the mall on the first floor next to the control point

moonshine event has a lagoon surrounding the center control point areas

murky has the majority of its outdoor area covered in water

outburst has two healing ponds that heal at ten percent max health per second which makes them the most medically useful water in the game

pelican peak has an out of bounds lake behind red's flag capture zone, an out of bounds pool near the central overpass, a pool of water underneath that overpass, and two pools in the underground tunnels leading to the vents

penguin peak similarly has a room with a pool in both team's underground tunnels

pier has a long deep canal under the first capture point, deep water in the indoor dockyard near checkpoint three, and is surrounded by ocean but you cannot go around the island

pressure the entire map takes place underwater in a facility and has a submerged pit in the middle that leads to tunnels throughout

reckoner has two out of bounds lakes next to roads and rushing water under the pipes near the final control points

rottenburg has a large river over a railing on the left side of the spawn area

rumford has a long river flowing out of a dam along one entire side of the map

sawmill has deep water at the lumbershack and waterfall areas, and in the ctf version shallow water covers the entire intel room floor which is a lot to think about. and on top of all that it's also raining. all three versions. arena sawmill, koth sawmill, ctf sawmill, just constantly raining on everything including all that water that is already there. arena sawmill was even the first map in tf2 history to ever have a weather effect. it's raining on a map that already has a waterfall. they did not have to do that.

sharkbay has instant death shark infested water in the harbour and literal shark tanks in both spawn rooms

skirmish has a large out of bounds lake and a small crocodile infested pool connected to a waterfall in a cave that also kills you instantly

snakewater has water with snakes under the middle control point and more snakes and water out of bounds near both second points

spineyard has ocean all around it, a fountain near the payload start, a circular pond, a balcony pool, and another fountain near the final checkpoint

sulfur is absolutely wild: there's a miniature pond behind blu spawn, a steaming tub inside blu spawn, a steaming pool outside blu spawn leading to point a, a river and multiple waterfalls near point a, a steaming lake under point b, and then that lake connects to a massive boiling pool surrounding and enveloping point d entirely

venice has an ocean behind blu's initial spawn and canals of water running through the whole map

watergate has a deep water canal in the center of the map

well has deep water channels outside both team buildings with underwater routes connecting to the central train house, the ctf version is similar but removes the route to the central building, and the arena version has a small pool next to the central building as a flanking option

if you make a map for this game, please have water in it in some way. it's my reason to live I LOVE IT SO MUCH
