It's really disappointing to see that another game has been snagged up by Epic's awful business deals and I do hope that Deep Silver will take note of the feedback on here going forward and will stop accepting the bribe that Epic provides to have anti-consumer exclusivity rights over a game. Treat your customers with the respect they deserve and let them choose where and how they play your games!

That being said, the game itself is not at fault for this and the developers have done an outstanding job. The environments are beautiful and it's fun being able to use a large variety of weapons to shred zombies into pieces. At the heart of the game is the gore system which in itself is unique and is a piece of technology that other game developers should really take note of. The game really does have that Dead Island feel that the original game offered and I am personally a fan of the more simplified skill system being based around cards that you can unlock and swap out whenever you feel like switching up your play style. The story may not be the most engaging for me personally, but Dead Island 2 certainly makes up for it in fun gameplay and an overall very polished experience all around.

So overall, while I am disappointed that Deep Silver decided to hold this game hostage on Epic for a year and that even now it still requires use of Epic's online services to allow for crossplay between the 2 launchers, since the game itself is great it would be disservice to say that I do not recommend it. We're here to review the game and not the publisher's business practices after all. Well worth a try if you can look aside the 'Epic' side of things!

Only played a few hours but since it's free to play I'd recommend it.

The microtransactions so far feel completely optional. While they will make the game easier, the beginning stages definitely don't require the bonuses (can't speak for how it will be in the long run so I may adjust my review if my opinion on this changes when I get further into the game).

The game fits well into the Emergency series and gameplay is pretty similar to previous titles. The multiplayer is a nice touch and it scales up the difficulty, not to the point where it's ridiculously hard, but enough so that it also doesn't get too boring which is pretty nice. There is some long term progression and you can level up and pick up skills/traits to make certain parts of the game easier and since each player can pick their own set of skills/traits teamwork can be quite important.

You can play the game completely free and with that in mind I would absolutely recommend people give it a try. Microtransactions are not really a great monetisation model for players and are inherently anti-consumer, but the way it is done currently I don't feel it is an issue at all as the microtransactions are mostly for consumable bonuses to make the game easier, with the only really enticing microtransaction for me being the xp boost to make progression a bit faster, but at the end of the day there have to be some incentives for people to spend money on a game which is otherwise free to play, so that's fair.

Went into Stardew Valley with no previous knowledge of it or any expectations. The store page didn't really seem to do it justice and I was pleasantly surprised! A game with a lot of depth and a somewhat engaging storyline. Gameplay features are fun and will keep you going for a long time. Definitely worth the money!

Not sure why this game has been getting so many negative reviews lately.

A small, story-driven game with simple exploration/puzzle mechanics. The overall game feel is great and the visuals are stunning.

What I liked most about Kona was the fact that unlike similar games, the developers chose NOT to include an overall horror theme into the game, proving that a game doesn't have to be scary in order to be good! There were the odd scenarios where things felt a bit unsettling and mysterious, but I didn't get to a point where it felt uncomfortable to continue playing like I get to in some similar games. A perfect balance overall!

The only thing I regret about this game, is having played through it without VR, though I will most likely come back and purchase the VR DLC at some point and play though the game once more.

Let me start by saying I absolutely loved this game and for the amazing price of 0$ (or whatever currency you prefer) I can't really complain even if I didn't. Had a great time playing through this with a friend and I can only recommend it.

The only problem that I have with this game is that the VR mode is simply not working. I can get into the menu but then I get stuck already, because I can't select any of the options. I figured out it uses some sort of gazing selection thing which is typical for most oculus games, however the controller simply won't work (I am using an xbox 360 controller).

I can't even rebind the controls in the options to any of the controller buttons so it's almost like it doesn't pick up the controller's input at all. While the game was great regardless I feel it would've been even better if I would've been able to experience it in VR, so I can only suggest that the dev(s) spend some time trying to get it to work!

Also I deperately want more of it now.. but I guess for the amazing price mentioned earlier I can't expect unlimited content :P

4/5 from me if I could give it a rating :P
