Awesome game...it surpasses the first Xcom in every way in my opinion. Although the previous version was extremely fun, this one just feels like a more complete game.

I also bought the DLC, but I'm not sure I made the right move there...one of them simply added enemies to the game which are super tough. They spank you while you are in the middle of a mission, then they leg it through a portal, only to return another time to slap you around some more. Rinse and repeat until you eventually kill them, which then allows you to research them to get new armour etc. I personally found this just added frustration to an already difficult game.

All in all however, the base game is definitely worth getting.

Not even sure what to say about this game that hasn't already been said...

It's the best city building game there has ever been in my opinion, and my hours played are testimony to this. It's currently my most played game on steam.

Just buy it...I've not tried the natural disasters dlc, but all the rest are worth getting. Steam do bundles and sales often enough too, so do yourself a favour and just grab it immediately.

Planet Coaster is the game we've been waiting for since Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.

It is absolutely immersive, very engaging and incredibly fun; and I haven't even tried the "Career" mode yet...this is simply feedback from the Sandbox!!!

I've logged nearly 30 hours on it in over a week (Beta access), and I cannot wait to get 30 more!!!

All in all, I cannot recommend this game enough; it's EASILY worth the (under) £30 price tag, especially in a world where new games are releasing at 49.99 with significantly less content.

Firstly, just on a technical note...I've played this game now for roughly 5 hours. Not sure exactly how far through I am currently (hopefully, not very!), but the game for me is running really well. No crashes and no bugs - I'm not sure what has happened to so many reviewers below...perhaps it's been patched since then?


Either way...onto the actual game. I find this game difficult, but for some reason not frustrating. Some of the bosses, especially the second one, are immensely difficult however (but rewarding when defeated).

Basically, it's like a "heavier" version of Dark Souls, but does enough to be a new game in it's own right.

The difficulty curve is a bit wonky though; the game does seem to get much easier as you go on, which could be intentional but doesn't marry up with the Dark Souls way.


The graphics, as you might expect, are absolutely beautiful. I cannot run this game on the fullest settings because I only have a 2gb card, but everything else is up on high (except for Nvidia Turbulence, which I don't like and have turned off) and it runs very nicely for me.


I think one of my favourite parts of this game in comparison to Dark Souls is simply the equipment - I love the armor and weapons, and there just seems a nice variety. That in itself instantly gets my interest in these RPG / Action style games.

So, from my perspective of an undetermined percentage through the game, I rate this:

Fantastic RPG game, with an amazing storyline and even better gameplay. This, in many superficial ways, reminds me of Fable - albeit, a much deeper, more mature version.

I cannot endorse this game highly enough; a definite "must play" for fans of the genre, or even for those who aren't!
