"There is no game" meets my messy desk. Cereal boxes that fold and sometimes are see-through.

Need for Speed used to follow mainstream car culture from the movies in the 2000s, but when no big movies were coming out in the 2010s it kinda bounced around from theme to theme until 2015 when they made a game about… Need For Speed no-subtitle. A bit blander iteration on Underground 2 with graphics matched only by Driveclub, cops and real car parts, with every element being an iteration on what they learned in that “wandering the wilderness” time period. And it sold at least 10 million copies, with the follow-ups iterating on that. (especially the handling lol. I 100% completed Payback before playing this, 2015 is the first game I noticed different buttons for front wheels braking and rear wheels braking.)

Still, it's an online-only game immortalizing Ken Block and a few other motorsport icons, including a real-life yakuza. Ken is gone, Ghost Games is gone, the second the servers shut down it's going in my "everything here no longer exists" album. I'll give it a good review, after all, I want it to look good for its execution.

Sounds good, runs good, feels good. Stylish enough to still have players. Player hosted servers will keep this game going forever.

Somehow the Platinum is more expensive here than in Warframe. Why does this game sell plat?
Other reviews have complained about the "Steam Deck Certified" tag, since this game loves to kick you out when it loses Wi-Fi or the Deck goes to sleep. But... Blizzard knows this already, Diablo 3 on the Switch works perfectly offline.

It's not all bad, especially the visuals are top notch. It does some fun stuff with the story, both Lilith and the humans try to avoid getting dragged back to the eternal conflict between heaven and hell. The Horadrim get called incompetent openly. The game is good enough, if a bit bland.
But it is very influenced by MMOs, especially Lost Ark. Between the grindy time-wasty busywork, "Accelerated" premium battlepass and the "Immortal" incident, I can't help but to call today's blizzard Greedy and rather anti-consumer. Remember Monkey Island: Never pay more than 20 bucks for a computer game. At least it doesn't have the Real Money Auction House...
I liked the animated profile/dialogue windows for the NPCs.

Something to rival Gmod in the number of workshop contributions. It has an android client. I think you can get it running on KDE as well. Enough graphics settings to satisfy even TotalBiscuit. I think it's a must-have for people with multiple monitors.

"A shedload of content, a 2d procedurally generated Metroidvania with a heavy crafting focus. Sink a great amount of time into this one for super cheap" -TB https://steamcommunity.com/groups/cynicalbritgaming/curation/app/105600/
One of the few games with a positive review from https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Slistingservice/curation/app/105600/
The game has top marks for everything from art to music and boss design, the only blemishes are that the game is still reliant on the wiki and doesn't explain anything to new players. Check out tModLoader too!

One of the best games on Steam, taking full advantage of the community created content and Steam Workshop tools in a very easy automated launcher.
It would be nice to "Roll" a bit slower though, it's not unusual for mods to break each other, or for a base game update to make your map unplayable until the mod devs fix it again.

Pros: Shiny colours, maps from around the world, buttstomp other cars, endless boost with annoying music, which I kind of dig, but the songs never have enough time to start properly because the events are so short, I'm pretty sure one of them lasts less than 20 seconds.

Cons: Everything else, the game drowned in mobile interface crap, cards and duplicate cards and upgrades everywhere, it's like the casino architecture that hopes you'll get confused and just spend money to get this over with.
Toy cars that only have "full speed" and a "brake" that you only use to tap for drifting.
It's less a racing game and more artillery duel, cars spinning on every axis mid-air and smashing into each other, or chaining ramps together, it would be so much fun with proper racing controls and without drowning in micro-transactions. They're unavoidable.
I think there's a career mode, but progress frequently stops and you need to play other *HOT* *LIMITED TIME* *BE AFRAID OF MISSING OUT* event modes to get credits for Gear Score upgrades. And grinding those gets stuck in waiting for refuelling or running out of tickets. This game and NFS No Limits, racing games where you need to buy fuel or die waiting.

Go play Blur instead, it's just better. There's a community discord out there if you need your PvP fix or insane speed-run montages, there's a massive skill ceiling there.

Fun "modern shooter*" in the same vein as Bulletstorm. It's incredibly stylish, and the unreliable narration affects the levels in real time.

*Oh man I can't call them modern if they're from 15 years in the past. Well back then there were a lot of "tropes" related to console shooters: regenerating health, stars to guide you to the objective, slow-mo breaching doors, turret sections, pausing the game to show tutorials, stamina no stamina thankfully.
It uses them to great effect to keep the action going, combos, shooting dynamite mid-air, focus that makes the double double-barrel shotguns have infinite ammo, dodging the killing blow only to auto-target the offender for an instant counter-attack.
