If you are looking for an engaging post-apocalyptic city builder.... buy this game!

Well worth the price, puts you right in any zone of your choosing on the globe. 459 hours in here at time of review, and I keep coming back for more. The developers are dedicated to polishing this game which in 2026 carries a lot of weight. I have had this game in my steam library for a long time and every time I load it up, it has improved. 10/10 would recommend this game. And after many hours of gameplay a word of advice - choose a spectacular location. The more unique buildings - the better!

After growing up with Sid Meier and playing nearly all the games, including 1,500 hours into Civilization 6, my advice? Don't give Sid Meier any more of your money. Here we have the Temu version of Humankind, and instead of listening to the players, the developers ignore feedback. Couldn't even make it to 10 hours and uninstalled to go back to Civilization 6.

Why am I leaving a review now? Because I am angry that not only did the developers release a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, broken carbon copy of a different game, but they released a "final patch" that literally broke Civilization 6 and making it basically unplayable in multiplayer.

These developers don't care about you. -1000/10, do not recommend.

Here in 2026 with nearly 1.2K hours in - very solid game and the only answer for turn based strategy. Still better than Civ 7 by far.

I have logged almost 300 hours into this game, so I feel it is safe to say that it is a game I enjoy playing. Yes, there are bugs. The aging rate seems a bit off, I've had times where my carpenter is out in the woods chopping down trees instead of making planks when I have none and builds going that require them. All small things to be expected from an early release game, and usually are fixed by a simple save and reload.

My problem, however, is that I recently got very engaged in the building editor. I became focused on building my own unique village, complete with many decorations, buildings, houses, custom roads, etc.. to make my Viking village my own. The building editor is, okay at best. The controls are not easy to work with, as you cannot move an object and move your screen at the same time. But the biggest thing is the 90 degree snap seems to only work 50% of the time, causing builds to take twice as long and be extremely frustrating. I joined the discord page linked to the game menu, reported the bug and waited for days for a reply, but got zero. Instead, another member who reported a tree in the new map not being able to be chopped and got a reply almost immediately.

I was very excited about this game, and extremely excited about the content of this new update. But I would like to finish my builds before I restart my map, and the lack of response to my issue turned me off, so I am considering uninstalling the game. To me, with this issue, it is boring and unplayable.
