This was an amazing game on launch, and some of the most fun I've ever had gaming with friends. Unfortunately I just don't feel that way anymore. The game gets endlessly repetitive after you unlock everything, which happens surprisingly early on, way before even hitting level 50. XP and requisition become meaningless, the highest-tier ship upgrades just don't seem worth the grind, and even warbonds become a bit of a bore.

A large chunk of the weapons in the game are poorly balanced and just feel awful to use, even some in the paid warbonds. Armor passives are generic and minimal, and none of the recent warbonds introduce armor that's unique in any way. No bosses like in the first Helldivers means that all of the mission types are very similar and lacking challenging fights against enemies that can't be taken down with 1-2 stratagems. I understand that the game is only 4 months old, but it really feels like during that entire time there was hardly anything added to introduce new fun gameplay or really challenge players in a meaningful way.

I'm really hoping new content is coming soon because for me and so many others (proven by the player counts of the past month) it's starting to get pretty stale, which is bad for a game with the premise of fighting in an evolving, dynamic, and galaxy-spanning war.

And the elephant in the room, which is the main reason for a negative review, the game is still unavailable for purchase in over 170 countries, even after Sony walked back the PSN linking.
