So, I got hired for this company. It wasn't OSHA approved, but I figured it would be fine. Turns out it wasn't fine. Don't make the same mistake I did, as I've already witnessed multiple gruesome accidents during work hours and am currently attending therapy.

I'm not a huge FPS player. My best friend bought me this for my birthday because I loved DOOM 2016. Yes, I loved DOOM 2016, but personally it was hard for me to get into DOOM Eternal. I'm quite patient when it comes to games, but I can't play Eternal without getting frustrated / overwhelmed.

The campaign throws a lot of mechanics at you very quickly, almost to the point of annoyance. The game also has a lot of gimmicks (like enemy weak points) which 2016 didn't have. To me, it takes the fun out of mindlessly killing and turns it into a basis of skill, precision, and hyper quick reflexes. While 2016 had the basics of this premise, they weren't as relevant. Eternal has a lot more keybinds than 2016 does, which in itself makes key tracking more difficult. Again, I'm not an avid FPS player or obsess over hyper speed gameplay. The higher amount of keybinds makes the game harder for me to play. 2016 was great for me because it was simpler to play. Eternal ramps up the complexity to another level. These are my personal gripes with the game, and do not affect what I see in the quality of the game itself.

The game itself is great. It's well polished, and feels very tight and clean. Little to no clunkiness in the gameplay. The music is obviously one of the largest appeals of the game, and it definitely holds up to that. The story is kind of interesting and takes a unique spin on who "Doom Guy" is. No spoilers, but it goes deeper than just killing demons. There's a decent bit of replayability if you care about achievement hunting or collectibles (similar to DOOM 2016). There's also an arena mode if you care about PvP, including a gamemode where you can essentially play as a demon and hunt players.

I personally was not able to reach the DLCs (despite my best friend buying them for me) due to my personal struggles with the game, so I can't really speak much about them.

All in all, as I've said, I'm not a skilled FPS player. I liked DOOM 2016 for the intensity of it, while still remaining simple enough for me to coordinate myself with. This is definitely still a game I would recommend, as I can see the massive appeal for it and the potential huge fun factor. Unfortunately I'm just not up to the skill level required for the game.

Neat little indie bike (and partially F1) racing game with World of Tanks / World of Warships progression system. UIs are decent but understandable. Graphics look fine for what it needs to be. You can only get additional garage slots by paying, which is kinda frustrating but understandable because of it being a solo dev game. It's not an outstanding game, but it's not terrible either. It has good potential for introducing the tier progression system into a racing style game

This game makes me think it's an early build prototype for an unannounced AAA game. I feel like I shouldn't be allowed to have my hands on this. The visuals and UI are outstanding. The amount of potential here is insane.

Really my only gripes are that the sounds for the final boss are a bit loud and the translations are kind of goofy sometimes. Although, translation-wise, it's not difficult to understand what it's trying to say, so this is a minor complaint.

Overall, a very surprising and impressive student-made game.

I haven't 100%'d many games, but this is one I did. Idk, something about it just hooked me. I don't like roguelikes and dont play them. But I played this one, and liked it. It doesn't feel punishing when you die, and you are free to quit a run early if you wish. You still keep everything from the run. This isn't a game of difficulty or punishment. It's a game of...just have fun. Yes, there is challenge. But most of the challenge comes down to early run dodging and knowing weapon evolutions. Once you have a few weapons and accessories together in a run, you are most likely going to make it to the 30min mark.
