I love this damn thing. The total customization you can impart makes playing any game, even strictly keyboard & mouse games, totally possible. New game have a control scheme you can't wrap your head around? Just build your own!

This is best played with a trainer in god-mode. The environment is exceptionally beautiful and makes for an enjoyable time traipsing through the forests of colonial Virginia trying to find small clues to mysteries that interweve to tell how the vanished colony ultimately betrayed each other and scattered themselves to the winds. The ending is emotional, but blunt and the seeming never ending cycle fits nicely with the idea that a ghost or haunting are just stuck on an eternal loop. The enemies are savage and lethally accurate which is why I went the unlimited health route. This would have been better as a walking simulator like Kholat, but that's just my opinion.

I totally recomment this game. Typically, as an adult with a job, I get an hour a night before bed to play some video games. Multiple times I stayed up way past my bedtime because I wanted to see what was around the next corner. I've got no problem admitting I cheated my way through it with health and battery mods, otherwise this is a very cheap and aggressive game that has a poor run and hide mechanic. But don't let that discourage YOU, I like playing story-style games for just that, the story. And the story here is intriguing and a rollercoaster of emotions and leaves you thinking WTF and "what could be next" pretty regularly. I am, however, disappointed in the very end of the game. The task is out of nowhere and doesn't fit the narrative up to that point. Your milage may vary. But, without spoiling anything in a review, it's frustrating and irritating to face a "choice" you have no choice in, it's very "Would you kindly?" in nature. But up to that point, it's a fun jaunt I enjoyed my time with.

No cursor in full-screen? Yet, you ave to play entire tutorial before you can get to the options to put it in full-screen. Terrible controls if playing on a desktop with a controller. But? The story seems decent for a free Final Fantasy so I won't gripe too much. I'm giving Mobius a Yes vote based on my love for FF which this seems to tickle, but it is pretty awful to actually control.

Early Access Review
Played on the free weekend where I got killed by a giant dragonfly, a tiny dinosaur, a raptor I never saw (clever girl), some fish, and an allosaur I'm fairly certain whose back was on fire. I chopped down trees and whacked weeds until I could make clothes. I banged at rocks until I could finally make a fire, then cooked some dinosaur meat. I ran up the coast until I found a river. There, I teamed up with some anklyosaurs and we killed a TRex. This game seems like a lot of fun, the crafting is good, the animals are diverse and gorgeous, but alas, the game just isn't for me. If you have the patience and find realistic survival techniques, like keeping warm, hydrated, and fed, not to mention safe from predators, even little ones, ARK seems pretty rad.

The only thing I can knock is trying to play this with a controller; the action is fine, but navigating menus is klunky as 7734 and you MUST have your keyboard handy. But even then, hit boxes on menu buttons seems to be a moving target.

I'll recommend this game because it is a really cool concept, mostly executed well, and for those with the patience, time, and knowhow, they will certainly have a great time.

I want to hack myself back in time so I can watch myself watch this for the first time. I must live vicariously through my past self, as I can never experience joy again, for this has perfectly crystalized those things that bring me laughter, excitement, and a strong urge to urinate into a jewel that I can never hope to share, for it is mine. Watch at your own peril. Nothing will bring you close to the excitement for which Kung Fury delivers...unless we can hack into the future and see more. I <3 Triceracop.

Not entirely convinced this isn't what real surgeons are doing on a daily basis, Not entirely sure I even have a problem with that.

Anything I can type Cthulu mythos into and it creates such horrors is all right by me. Anything that also includes Dune jokes is just icing on the meta-cake. For a game about creative thinking, sometimes solutions can be pretty restrictive and precise, but for the most part, the greater part, it's fun to create what you want and have it wreak havoc on the world.
