Came back to Quake Champions after years… and damn, this game still has that raw arena shooter soul most modern FPS games forgot.

I grew up playing Quake III Arena back in the 2000s, my first real online multiplayer experience. Hearing that deep announcer voice again saying “THREE FRAGS LEFT” instantly teleported me back to late-night matches, railgun duels, and getting absolutely destroyed by movement gods 😭

The speed, strafe movement, rocket jumps, map control… nothing else really feels like Quake. Every kill feels earned. No handholding, no gimmicks, just pure mechanical skill and adrenaline.

Yeah, the playerbase isn’t huge anymore, but when matches hit, they HIT. The soundtrack, the heavy metal energy, the arena atmosphere, still unmatched.

If you grew up with old-school FPS games, this is more than a shooter. It’s a time machine.

10/10 nostalgia rush.

Used to grind Fallout: New Vegas for hours back when the Mojave actually felt alive. Every choice mattered, every faction had depth. Then Fallout 4 dropped and it felt like the soul got traded for settlement building and watered-down dialogue.

Tried Fallout 76 expecting the franchise to recover but somehow it went even further away from what made Fallout legendary. Empty interactions, forced online mechanics, repetitive grind. It’s not terrible now compared to launch, but it still doesn’t hit like New Vegas did.

Maybe I’m just chasing that old Fallout feeling again. :) :) :)
