This is hands-down my favorite story in any piece of media ever. It's a masterclass in writing characters that you care about, and oh boy will it send your emotions on a roller coaster because of it. It's also better than any other game I've ever played at knowing exactly what the player is thinking and feeling and responding appropriately. The number of times where I'd comment something to myself that was immediately repeated by the main character was frankly uncanny.

As for the gameplay itself, it's very solid, but the story/writing is definitely the star of the show here. The battle system is very easy to pick up, but still interesting enough to not be brain-dead or anything. With it being a time-loop game, there are points where things can feel a bit repetitive, but for reasons I don't want to spoil, it's absolutely necessary for the game and its story to work. I don't consider it a con, but I do think it's worth pointing out to new players just to set expectations.

Anyway I lost track of how many times this game made me sob, 10/10 everything was worth remembering.
