This game is not what you think it is.

To the gamer: You should buy this game. It is worth it for the story alone. If you enjoy the game mechanics and lore, there is plenty of additional "side" content to be had. If you are on the fence like I was because of the initial negative reviews, forget all of that. Just get the game.

To the developer: The Witcher 3 was my favorite game to date. I was so excited to hear about Cyberpunk, and then disappointed when it finally came out. I heard so much negativity about it that I did not even give it a shot. I finally decided to try it out, and am very glad that I did. This is an incredible game, and it's unfortunate that the release was as bumpy as it was. Looking forward to The Witcher 4.

This is the most original and clever game I have played. I don't know if there is one particular genre that would describe DRG, but I find it to be totally unique. In two decades of playing computer games I can honestly say there is nothing like it. There is tons of room for additional content and many areas for this game to expand. As long as the developers keep up with it (which they have done great so far) I think this game will only keep getting better.

This game is incredible.

I really enjoyed the first one. I didn't buy this one for a while because I thought it would just be a repeat of the first. I haven't compared them side-by-side, but it seems like there's a significant amount of new content. I recommend playing on "Brutal" mode. The combat is actually quite challenging. It also forces you to gain intel on captains in order to exploit their weaknesses. If not, they are extremely hard to defeat. Then they keep killing you and get stronger every time.

I also am really enjoying the variety of enemies, specifically the captains. I'm very impressed at all the different personalities and characteristics of each one. They also have a wide range of strengths and weaknesses. The nemesis system is so fun and unique as well. It really feels good to decapitate an enemy captain after he has killed you 5 times and he knows it!

If you liked the first, definitely get this game. If you haven't played the first, I recommend them both. But this one can definitely be played in stand-alone. You aren't missing much from the story line and the game even starts with a recap cinematic of the events in the first game.
