Early Access Review
Ridiculously well-made for early access. I'm thirteen hours into the experience and it still feels like I have so much left to do/unlock. It's a great kind of addicting. Excited for the full release.

This is one of the best sequels I have ever played to an already amazing game.

To me, the original Coffee Talk felt so far ahead of its visual novel contemporaries in terms of story and character development. It was hard to imagine that I could get as invested, or let alone more invested, in what followed from the first game. And I won't lie, part of that doubt did come from the untimely passing away of the beloved series' creator, Mohammad Fahmi. His design and writing, as far as I'm aware, played an enormous role in why Coffee Talk looked and felt so unique in the first place. So going into this sequel, I was hoping that what he brought to the original game creatively, in both the design and writing departments, would be preserved.

I got more that what I bargained for with this release.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is an amazing continuation that fluidly builds on stories from the old game while also weaving new ones with novel characters and fantastic designs for them, to boot. The new mechanics introduced for coffee-making AND storytelling are one-of-a-kind, something that I didn't even think of as a possibility yet felt so incredibly seamless and natural upon my first impressions of them.

I can't say much more without spoiling this game for anyone reading. This is a masterpiece, and everyone who worked on this game should feel immensely proud for what they've accomplished. Somehow, despite the odds, Hibiscus & Butterfly not only preserved what made the original Coffee Talk so great, but dare I say, /improved/ on the original product.

I have never felt more happy to give a release a positive review. Recommended 100 times out of 10.

War Thunder is a husk of its former self.

If you're wondering why there are so many negative reviews lately, the summary is this:

Poor updates and an extremely unbalanced economy that has only gotten worse over the years and /exponentially/ worse as of recently.

The company behind the game, Gaijin, recently admitted that they intentionally design the grind so that free-to-play players will lose in-game money no matter what, forcing them to pay for 'premium' vehicles. Because of this, premium vehicles are over-saturated in the current game and since they're often better than normal vehicles (to further incentivize people to pay for them), anyone trying to play the game F2P gets crushed.

I've gone thousands of hours on this game without spending a single penny, and I'm proud of that. But I stopped playing last month once I realized that it just wasn't sustainable anymore.

Despite it saying 'free to play', make no mistake, this has become a wallet warriors game. And it sucks.

Don't waste your time on it.

Honored to be a demo tester for this game. Amazing visuals, enriching story, deserves all of its accolades and then some.

A massive dungeon crawler with an endless content, especially with all the DLC.

Over 1k hours into this game and still haven't unlocked all the characters, let alone all of the items. Haven't even touched challenges.

The art is animatedly disturbing, with gore-riddled floors and enemies depicted in this fittingly cartoonish art style.

There's still room for a story in the Binding of Isaac, making itself prevalent from the moment a player launches the game and watches the opening cinematic. It features dark commentary on coping with religious trauma, child abuse, neglect, and a host of other issues made apparent as the player descends the numerous endings, peeling back the layers to theorize and uncover what really happened to Isaac and his family.

There's a reason this game has a legendary reputation. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth was released seven years ago (at time of writing) and its intoxicating formula is unmatched. Critics have seen this game serve as a gateway for millions of people to get into the roguelike genre. Myself included.

While there have been bosses and endings that don't quite make sense within the lore, or have left the community feeling divided / unsatisfied, (Hush, Delirium, Mother, etc) the gameplay elements have more than made up for these qualms. Not to mention what appears to be the games true and final ending from the latest DLC which, in my opinion, perfectly ties up the game's themes in a clear and mature way.

Perfect 10/10.

Cute art & premise. Unfortunately, falls really flat with the U.I. and becomes excruciatingly drab after a couple minutes. Once the idea of the game is revealed, it's really unsatisfying to play through. Also, what's up with that music that constantly plays which you CANNOT turn off? Not to mention the birthday voice lines. Yeeeesh.

Really wanted to like this.

Reposting this from my refund reason to Steam Support:

This game did not age well. I remember having fond memories of playing it; which is why I bought it. But after the first thirty minutes, it felt like a deadbeat and dull experience. The story line is D-tier at best, and I'm being generous. It's such a painstakingly vague yet simple backstory, it's like it's trying to reel in it's viewer with it's "mysterious" plot line and reveals. The story is filled with so much cliche's, it's not even ironically endearing. It's just boring.

What I think really takes the cake, is the fact that the game play mechanics don't even make up for the story. When you kill a Walker or finish off a Thug, it doesn't give you any satisfaction or sense of accomplishment. The event that ends up being the most enjoyable is the Prologue, which temporarily allows you to mow down a horde of walkers with a rifle; and even that only felt.. approximately okay.

The leveling and upgrade system works very simply, and the upgrades don't get any more interesting than *maybe* a new ability, or just a slight damage/handling upgrade to something that already coexisted in your inventory.

The walkers/thugs' attack patterns are extremely easy to follow, but they take such a long time to kill. It's not hard to lose your patience after taking five minutes to kill three zombies. The A.I also act like idiots and deal no damage, so you have to be the piggy-back hero for all of them; which is meticulous and boring.

Replaying Dead Island: Riptide on PC has affirmed my decision about this game. It's an extremely underwhelming experience, and I'm ashamed that I blew twenty-bucks to experience nothing but immense disappointment. I didn't even get a good sense of nostalgia from playing it.

If this game was free, it wouldn't have been worth the money.

Tons of content for no price. Though the horror aspect is (mostly) lost, I feel like the creators knew that it was going to be. It is hilarious playing as an SCP and killing someone and hearing them scream through their microphone.

Lots of fun. Can't wait for the next update.
