Call of Duty: Medieval Warfare

I felt really betrayed by Overkill when they decided to add microtransactions to the game after specifically stating they wouldn't. So much so that I havent played in two(2) years.

"We've made it clear that Payday 2 will have no microtransactions whatsoever (shame on you if you thought otherwise!)" -producer Almir Listo (2013)

Gamespot asked (former) lead designer David Goldfarb exactly one month later if they would ever consider implementing micro-transactions, he responded with- "No, no. God, I hope not. Never. No."

Needless to say, microtransactions happened and the entire Payday 2 community felt collectively slapped in the face all at once. It was so half hazardly thrown at us and poorly designed. Nobody anticipated it, nobody wanted it. After literally spending hundreds of dollars in DLC alone, this left a bad taste in my mouth. So I walked away, I uninstalled the game and moved on.

Recently, a personal friend of mine tried convincing me to return, harping on nostalgia and downplaying the micro-transactions. It worked, I reinstalled Payday 2 and played for about a week before making any newfound opinions.

After a week of gameplay I have decided to redact my "thumbs down" opinion and replace it with my original "thumbs up" opinion. The game at it's core is still the same and they have taken a lesser "in your face" approach to there microtransactions. A lot of weapons are now very "nerfed" but that is to be expected with microtransactions. For the most part, I'm ok with that, though it shouldn't of happened to DLC weapons that I paid real American currency for.

In summary:
It is still Payday 2 is still a good game and a lot of fun. The community is still rather strong and after all these years DLC ist still a thing. Just be wary of your purchases and know not every DLC is for everyone.

I get that this is Early Access, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ man, this sucks. "Day One: Garry's Incident" was better. This isn't even Alpha yet I would say. Unreal 4 my ass!! And the sound.... oh man, dont even get me started, The voices sound like someone on a cell phone in the bathroom. Nothing dies when you shoot it and spells don't work. The videos you see in the previews are not even the game, looks nothing like that. He dares to ask what we think of the game but then go's deleting all the bad comments and reviews here on steam. Not good business ethics. He is more concerned about the intro video (which is awful by the way) then the actual game itself. Hold off on this one boys and girls, I would wait a bit to see if this pans out to be anything or if its just another indie developer blowing smoke up our collective asses, taking advantage of Early Access just to screw us all. Another shining example why Early Access was a bad idea.

Finaly... A good "God of War" clone for Steam. Thats all this game is. If you arent a fan of "God of War" maybe this game isnt for you. Just replace ancient greece with a jungle, gods with asian gangsters and Kratos is a Deadguy who has been brought back to life with voodoo, and now has to save his girlfriend from the asian gangsters. I know, the plot is thin. But trust me the action is solid. This screams "B-Flick" all day, but thats half the fun of this game.

It's like a "Side-Scrolling" Arkham almost.

This game is Intence as All Hell for no reason.
