Even after 400 hours I'm still seeing new things and learning so much every single game. You've probably heard people say the same about other complex/rewarding games (Dota, Dark Souls, Spelunky, etc). The difference is RL is able to avoid the "bashing your face against a wall" early learning curve players often experience with some of those other titles. The matchmaching system is so strong (and player pool so large) that I was never put into games against experienced vets who would have ruined my day while I was learning the ropes. My first month was all spent playing alongside fellow newbies who had just as much to learn as myself- meaning Hour Three was, amazingly, just as much fun as Hour One Hundred Fifty Three!

Would have been nominated for Best Picture, but instead they made it into a video game. It was the right decision.

The greatest video game in the history of time and space. ...is what Dota 2 turns into, AFTER you've done 50 hours of boot camp and 50 hours of homework. Before that you'll be shocked and confused and humiliated more times than you can count. In the end the investment is well worth it, just be warned you'll need enough time and thick enough skin to survive the trial by fire.

An absolute Game of the Generation contender... that will unfortunately only be played by 1/10 as many people as it should because it's SOOOOOO HARD. But talk about rewarding!

The most fun I had with any game in 2012! Really solid shmup gameplay, and the soundtrack is increeedible.

Oregon Trail with more alien abductions... somehow even more awesome than it sounds!

This was the most fun I had all year while in a seated position!
