As a game, Helldivers 2 is quite fun but there's an issue that prevents me from recommending this game.
The entitlement of Playstation gamers.

I got the game at launch, played it a bit and then stopped when the controversy with PSN requirements happened. Recently decided to get back into it and I've learned something. Playstation players are some of the softest, most arrogant, egotistical, spoiled gamers out there. If I respond to a SoS beacon and it's a Playstation player, there's an 80% chance I get kicked from the lobby immediately and a 99% chance I'll get kicked once we arrive at extract or shortly before. The only way to really enjoy the game is turning cross-play off and separating yourself from the man-babies on Playstation. And all this is because they feel like Helldivers 2 should have been exclusive.

If you're using a newer Intel CPU(13th or 14th Gen) do not purchase this game. You will get stuck in an infinite loading screen unless you turn off ecores and hyperthreading in the BIOS or bypass EAC. I'm not willing to do either of these things for a single game, so I refunded it.

Gonna keep it short and simple.

I enjoy the game, it's quite fun. Originally thought it'd lack any real identity from them merging so many mechanics, but I think it ended up working together pretty well. That being said, they lay-off most of your dev team 2 weeks after launch even though they're the only reason the game has managed to hold onto any playerbase. It's like they want the game to crash and burn as much as the haters do. I can't prove it, but I swear all these failed games recently are somehow being used as tax write-offs.

The game is fun, well balanced, and overall extremely enjoyable. The low-poly graphics means it can run smoothly for a lot more people than other games of a similar nature. The survival elements are pretty well balanced, in that I don't find myself running around with no food or water and dying in the middle of nowhere every 5 minutes because there's a dozen gauges to micromanage. The base building is also really neat, managing power and generators is fairly straightforward and the fuel consumption of generators isn't blown way out of proportion like some games.

And no, this game does not need a multiplayer option. It is perfectly fine for games to be singleplayer only, not everything needs to be multiplayer to further inflate your bloated PvP egos. Next thing you know everyone is gonna be complaining that it doesn't have a BR or battlepass..

You launch it and tell yourself "Alright, only an hour or two." And then you're suddenly hearing birds chirping outside while the sun rises. Pretty sure this game is an SCP that warps your sense of time.

A very relaxing diarama style building sandbox. Super fun, super calming, and overall a great way to wind down after a long day.

Building your own castle is really fun. I've spent well over 150 of my hours in this game just building fantastical castles and decorating them.
The combat is overall fairly fun, until a point.. The last few bosses are just... Terrible to try to do solo. Balance changes focused around PvP nuked the enjoyability of solo to cater to the people who can't play a game without minmaxing how to ruin other peoples enjoyment.
The endgame resource grind is also really tedious and annoying. Mainly because you can't stop farming the early resources because you need them to actually make the endgame stuff, so the rate of growth will slow down drastically as you're left going from one end of the map to the other collecting resources just to make a new pair of gloves.

If you're looking to play a small server with your friends, it's absolutely worth it. If you're a solo player looking to build massive castle without caring about finishing the game, it's also worth it. But if you're a solo player who wants to actually finish the game, I can't say that it's worth it.

Even though I fall into the latter group, I still recommend this game because I feel like I got my moneys worth with nearly 300 hours.

As a game, Fallout 4 is good. I really enjoyed playing it.
But as a studio, Bethesda is terrible. They release broken games with the 'fix it later' mentality, and then they don't actually fix it themselves. The modding community is usually the ones tasked with actually fixing their games. Then they go ahead and force updates into a 10 year old game which then breaks all the mods just so they can try to sell you all the 'official' mods in a bundle, which will break your game even more. All with the added bonus of having old bug fix mods no longer work, and new bug fix mods being months out if they ever come.

Don't let the negative review fool you, I absolutely adore this game but there is a problem. The developer had life happen and has been forced to step back from active development for the past several years, in that time they've allowed the community to continue updating and doing bugfixes and such to keep the game functional. I'm still holding out hope that the Universe Update(a massive rework of a lot of core game mechanics like universe generation and all that) will happen in my lifetime, but the more time passes the more likely it is that we'll get GTA X before a proper update for this game. Once the Universe Update is released, assuming it does even half of what was promised, this review will be updated to reflect such.
