I really like this game, this is pretty cool. There's a lot of procedural aspects which *can* help with repetetiveness, though I do see this getting old fast because all the quests are basically "go give this object to this person, then go spy on this person for 1 minute, then go kill this guy". I think having different objectives like bringing different objectives into or out of an enemy base would be cool, but i doubt this game is going to get big updates ever again because a sequel exists. Combining weapons and armor is also really cool, though they're basically just stat upgrades; having actual effects like making bullets flammable or something (ala the binding of isaac or some other roguelike) would be nice. I also really like the graphics, i think they look old school and otherworldly, reminds me a lot of jet island (I will also probably not buy 8089 because that game looks really ugly in comparison. unless it fixes a lot of the content issues with this game). other than these flaws, i do really enjoy a lot of the things about this game and all the neat little bits it has going on.

could get frustrating, but i enjoyed my time and was always motivated to keep playing

wanted to like it, kinda sucks balls. the shooting and stuff is actually really cool and satisfying, but i cant enjoy it when the writing is so random xd lolz and the game itself is really buggy. yucky ass game

I have a lot of thoughts about this game, but what my opinion boils down to is while the game is really good and I love the story(/ies) and music, I really don't enjoy the combat, and it ruins the experience for me. I don't really enjoy the rpg combat/bullet hell fusion, because both end up worse and I don't really like a ton of stuff from either genre anyways. Ultimately, this and the abundance of random encounters is what drove me away from finishing this. it just wasn't for me

random encounters are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. it's such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse for gameplay, and it really ruins the game entirely for me, pausing the music and all the progress i've made so i can be bad at this completely seperate minigame and lose some of my progress. thanks, I really feel rewarded now.

man, this game feels really unbalanced and unfair. it's so easy to get insta-killed, every time I die I always just think "there was absolutely no way for me to know that was going to happen", llike making a big leap from a tall place and i'll land in water/lava or something, or like just random stuff i didnt know would hurt me, like in the second level there's a big penguin towards the end that deals damage if you jump on it (unlike every other penguin). I also just feel like I'm never in control of chubby, like I'll have just barely not enough air control to avoid something, and passing a level feels luck determined. I really wanted to like this, but it's not for me.
