I came into the game with low expectations especially with all the things I've heard and seen, and with the game being on sale i said "eh why not".

I honestly did not expect the game to be this good and fun, especially as someone who's finished FC5 and other single player action games. It has a lot of issues here and there still, but the gameplay itself is what honestly kept me going.

Exploration is a blast, as someone who's always fantasized about living in a neo-futuristic city this really satisfied that itch. Cyberpunk is honestly one of the only games where I'd actually look up whilst just exploring / moving around, the sheer scale of some locations - especially the more urban areas - really is breathtaking (thank you Keanu Chungus).

Gunplay and combat were honestly the aspects that i definitely did not expect to like as much as i did. As someone who's more accustomed to less arcadey shooting i didn't think I'd enjoy healthbars and tanky enemies much, but actually playing it proved me wrong. One aspect i genuinely loved was the cover shooting system, as someone who adored the cover shooting from FC5, having it here with improvements (gradual leaning depending on the angle you're looking, seriously this is such a small but really great touch) just made me so happy. The weapons themselves are really great with good variety and usefulness too, shotguns and sniper rifles pack humongous punches, automatic weapons pepper and stagger your enemies, and the melee choices makes you feel like you're playing Hotline Miami.

Story wise i won't dwelve or talk too much as I've only basically started going through it, but from the 25 hours I've seen it's honestly really fun to go through. It takes itself seriously and emotionally on some areas whilst keeping it lighthearted and even funny in others, kind of like a slice of life anime.

Performance wise it's passable as someone who only has mid tier specs (Legion Y530 with a 4GB GTX1050, i5-8300u, and 16GB DDR4 Ram). The inclusion of AMD's upscaler helped immensely in keeping framerates playable whilst making the game still look pretty decent. I've had to restart the game every 3 hours due to increased lag (most likely a memory leak of sorts), but apart from that performance overall for me is passable. Bugs and glitches wise I've had some issues here and there, but nothing actually troublesome so far (only had a single crash, which is far less than I've expected).

Overall, it's a game that you'd enjoy if you're willing to give it a chance, 8/10
