No Ambush

Day of Infamy is a relatively enjoyable game. However, it is marred by problems, notable awful class balance, an extremely outdated engine, many technical issues, and a very small amount of available content.

It's the same WWII shooter you've seen, but with the base gameplay Insurgency has. However, it discards the only slightly weighty class-basis of Insurgency and makes classes the core, central aspect of the gameplay. 2 or 3 of the classes, which are capped at 1-2 members, are actual decent. The rest of them are completely useless and limit your ability to actually play the game. Enjoy machinegun spam and air support every 15 seconds with your bolt action rifle and no pistol.

It's okay, and I do play it from time to time, but you'd be better off just waiting for a WWII shooter that doesn't make 2/3 of your team useless.

While the game does retain a level of quality and polish not seen in some other games, in my eyes the cons outweighed the pros.

Pros:

-The game looks fairly pleasing
-Good map design
-Good weapon choice and variety.

Cons:

-Weird hit detection
-You cannot aim with any weapons except those which have scopes (This is my main flaw with the game)
-Buggy network code
-Overpriced keys

shallow fun — you can enjoy it if you don't try to get too deep into the actual game design of it. infinitely more fun with friends. great modding scene.

Battlefront II is an AMAZING third person shooter. It wasn't given the full praise it deserves and it still holds up today as a great game. With a possible Battlefront III on the horizon, it's a great chance to go back and see what was do-able way back when.
