Short and to the point, every puzzle is a new idea.

Story/themes wise, this game is a natural progression of the original game / DLC.

The puzzles get rid of the most annoying elements of the first game (recording, mines, and turrets) and replace them with about 8 new mechanics, with a new mechanic being introduced every 10 puzzles or so to keep things fresh.

The star puzzles are what I can only describe as "streamlined". They generally give more hints as to what to do compared to the first game, which could be seen as a positive or a negative. They are divided into 3 distinct categories that were present in the original game: search every corner of the level, follow some kind of clue, or connect a laser that isn't part of a puzzle solution.

The game looks significantly better than the first, however performance takes a hit. My i5-4440 was entirely CPU bound, and when upgrading to a r5 7600 with GTX 1660 super I experienced average fps of between 50 and 120, depending on which level I was in. Additionally, there are significant graphical issues, such as text on the old style terminals looking absolutely awful, some shadow pop in, and the edges of characters and trees smearing heavily when moving.

I'm not sure if its because I have played the original and Road to Gehenna recently, but I felt like a lot of the puzzles could have been made harder. Many areas seemed focused on demonstrating one new mechanic, and by the time the player got familiar with it the level was over and it was time to move to the next mechanic, which levels would not make use of the previous one. I would've liked to have seen more puzzles using a wider variety of mechanics, which we got some of in the end game puzzles but hopefully there is a dlc expanding on this.

Very rewarding puzzle game. Each puzzle teaches you a new mechanic and a new way to look at things, further accentuated by the philosophical writings on the walls.

This game can reward many hours of playtime just going through each puzzle normally, can reward more hours spent collecting every image/writing, and experienced players can "complete" the game in mere minutes.

I completed this game to the credits, and even when I was halfway through, it had become a bore. The missions are repetitive, the gameplay is pretty bad, and the performance isnt very good. I'm not even sure if there was a strong plot, because I had toned out the monotone narration of the protagonist after about 5 minutes. From what little I gathered, the plot is practically non-existent, and there is no way to be interested in any of the characters.

This game's only stong point is its famous killcams which, by the end of the game, have become extremely repetitive and not very satisfying.

Game destroys life. Get new life to play for 2 hours. Still can't get anywhere. Incredibly difficult. You will kill yourself.
