This is perfect for those of you who remember how fun desktop pets or Tamogotchi were. It's a fun, low maintenance game to have running in the background while you do something else. It could be writing, drawing or even while you're playing another game. I've been running this both while writing, and while doing trades on Warframe Market. Totally worth it and keeps you on edge waiting for those rare bites. An easy thumbs up for me.

This is like Alien Crush on tren. I love how everything feels over the top and crazy.

For context - I have well over a thousand hours of in game time back when the game used the propriety Battlenet launcher and have played plenty of games of both competitive and casual. This review is not intended to add more fuel to the fire, but to offer context as to why this has come to pass.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons as to why people do not like what this game has become and this is their way of expressing their long-standing annoyance with Blizzard. Things like the added grind mechanics for the new characters and the 'Freemium' pricing model which has cut content felt like it was tacked on arbitrarily. The only plausible reason behind that decision seems to be an effort to price-gouge less savvy consumers who don't understand the value of the money used for their in-game currency. There is also the PvE game mode which wasn't as in-depth and complex as it was since it was announced in a trailer back in 2019. Instead, what people got was a very short, barebones and only mildly serviceable PvE game mode with virtually no replay value at all. There are also problems with some characters being imbalanced, only having been made worse now that it's 5v5 as opposed to 6v6, as well as being designed as a PvP game first and a PvE game second and not lending well at all for that kind of game mode. Ana is and always has been a broken and overpowered character to the point where literally every competitive team in every bracket MUST roll her because of how the sleep dart and healing grenade combo can completely demolish any push or choke. They have also made a focus on curbing the toxic behaviour of the people who play it (read: manchildren), but even if you fully remove their ability to communicate, it doesn't address the core problems as to why people behave like this in the first place. The hero meta of characters that are worth playing are very limited because of how everything doesn't seem all that balanced at all, which makes team composition rigid and not fun. Because of that, when someone decides that they want to play something 'off-meta', players will start blaming that player, attributing their perceived loss on them regardless of how well they're playing their 'on-meta' characters. These are problems that the game has, yet Blizzard are clueless on how to deal with any of them and are far more interested in making sure their characters are 'diverse' and 'inclusive'.

There are also problems which involve the studio behind the scenes. Things like the allegations of racism and sexual misconduct (putting it mildly because I'm not getting this review automatically flagged for saying what I actually mean, fill in the blank yourself), and there being a suicide as a result of that. There is also a room they themselves have dubbed "The Cosby Suite" where they idolize the convicted rapist of the same name. There was also an incident involving someone stealing breast milk from a female employee for 'reasons'. Are these the virtuous actions of a company that the LGBTQ+ community can honestly hold up as something to be proud of? Does Blizzard even deserve their position as one of gaming's finest?

These are questions that people WANT to ask Blizzard but they simply won't ever get a straight answer. Gamers are tired of being treated like their opinions never mattered at all, even though they put the money down for their products in the first place. All for the sake of a company like Blizzard to pander to people who for all intents and purposes were not even interested in playing their games. For blind sycophants who will go to bat for them because of games that Blizzard used to produce out of a sense of misplaced brand loyalty. I'm not a heartless ogre who wants to take a fat, steamy dump over a game that anyone can see has had a lot of hard work and dedication put into it. I can also see why people would want to defend this game because they feel just as enthusiastic about it as the developers do, as misguided as I believe it to be. Having said that, that does not mean that the people who are review-bombing this game aren't passionate either, nor does it invalidate their opinions as to why they don't like what Blizzard has become over the last fifteen years.

For too long, the wider gaming community has been disregarded across the board by the companies who make up the industry. Valve are no exception to this but they do at the very least try to make their platform a consumer-friendly one, and this review system helps a lot with that effort. Blizzard on the other hand has for the longest time been the complete opposite in that regard, all in favour of adopting greedy, predatory business practices designed to milk young, impressionable and vulnerable people. All in favour of maximum possible returns for the least amount of effort.

If you still aren't convinced, then here's a short TL;DR - Go play TF2 or something. Even writing this review was time wasted that I could have spent playing TF2. Play Solitaire. Play literally anything else. Save the cash you would have been suckered into spending on this crummy excuse for a game.

An otherwise excellent game, mired by an unnecessary inclusion of anti-cheat software which could potentially ruin your PC.

Game is dead. Much the same fate as every Free MMO that isn't WoW. Wasn't even that balanced even when it wasn't Free to Play.

You're much better off with Tera because it is the only MMO out there that isn't cancer.
