This game is absolutely fantastic. It launches feature complete, working and well polished. Even 4 days before the official launch. Many people have complaints and what I mainly see grief about is widescreen support, tutorial crashes and teaming up.

For the widescreen support...developers have said (and written on the Steam store page) that widescreen support will come soon. It's not here yet, but will be very soon.

My friend crashed during the opening cutscene and couldn't play the game. He modified his settings and set it to "Performance" instead of "Quality" and he had no further issues with the game. We played for 8 hours straight.

About teaming up, if you can't join your friends lobby, make sure crossplay is enabled and team up using your friends invite code. That worked for us. Something else that also worked is changing the gamemode to Operations, having your friend join and then change it back to campaign.

With all that said, the game works, plays great and entertains you. They've got a solid foundation and if this is what we have to build upon, we will have a very strong live service game for years to come!

Backbone. Or "Tails Noir" as it has been renamed.

It's a game that I did not expect anything from. I launched it and let it prove itself.
...and what a beautiful performance it turned out to be.

First of all the pixel art style is incredible. It's used competently and everywhere in the game, there is attention to detail. The colors, shadows, clothing, palettes...etc. Everything looks stunning in the pixelated style used. It's one of the many things that add to the beauty of the game.

The soundtrack is truly unique. It's not trying to fill blank parts with mindless background music or use sound effects where they are not needed. Every single sound you hear seems to serve one purpose; to make the world you're in come alive. It's captivating, refreshing and immersive.

When it comes to gameplay, it's simplicity. Nothing mindblowing, nothing mindnumbing. It's exactly where it needs to be at, for the game to tell the story it's trying to tell. You move left and right, you interact with objects and you read the text bubbles from interactions. In conversations with characters, you read it and click whichever response you feel is in line with the values of your character.

The plot itself is engaging and makes you feel like you're right in the middle of it. It twists where you don't expect it to as well as being wholesome and entertaining at other times. You are made to feel that what you choose to say has an impact and carries weight.

All in all, Backbone (or "Tails Noir") was not the game I thought it would be. However it's the game I am glad I played and would regret to never have experienced. It takes about 3 to 4 hours if you take it all in and is well worth your time. Make some coffee, kick back, relax and enjoy the story.

Fingerbones... A very intriguing title that immediately caught my attention.

I read the description, found myself interested and launched the game. As I started playing the game, the soundtrack and atmosphere took me in right away.

The notes you find are few, the game is short, the plot is twisted but understandable in an abstract way. To sum up the game; it's a tiny emotional rollercoaster that leaves some food for thought.

Try it out, it's worth your time.

I am met by an eerie room filled with mystery, suspense and confusion. The Room is dark and the only source of light is a faint glow from a window and a spotlight on a stand. My gaze moves to the middle of the room and I can't help but notice the massive safe. On top of the safe I notice a letter which I proceed to open merely to find a key enclosed with a very peculiar note. After reading the note I'm left completely perplexed. I look at the key I was given but I quickly begin to feel helpless when I search for a keyhole somewhere on the magnificent safe.

The key doesn't seem to fit into any of the strange openings or contraptions I spot on the safe. I start thinking less of the key and more of the safe. I begin to study the safe closely and analyze every tiny nook and cranny I can find. Suddenly, success! I found something! A tiny panel the size of a matchbox slides open...

The Room really shines in my world. I love a good puzzle game and this title certainly gets the job done. As you start the game, you notice the soundtrack playing right away. The soundtrack doesn't feel repetive and still manages to support the atmosphere it wants to create very nicely. Besides the sounds, the puzzles are fun. When you face a seemingly impossible lock with nothing but mystery, The Room challenges you to think outside the box and solve it's many riddles. The Room gives you a nice feeling when you solve a puzzle and coupled with very neat and detailed graphics, it feels genuinely satisfactory to solve a puzzle.

When playing The Room, it's important to savor every bit of the atmosphere as it's a semi-short game but surely worth playing and spending time with.

There is not enough space in this review box to state all the reasons why you should buy this game. Just look at how many hours I've spent on this and take my word for it.

Go buy it.

Nether. It's a decent game with as many positive as negative sides...

Nether shows off a large open world very fast. It's easy to get lost in and creates an amazing atmosphere. This is where I want to loot things. Sadly, Nether doesn't have a very noteworthy looting system. It's a simple "Hold E" and random loot appears kind of system. While I can live with this simple system, it becomes a handicap when the only things you can loot must glow a golden color and are extremely scarce. This is sad, as I personally would have loved to dig under every tiny digitalized rock I could find in Nether, such as shelves, containers, boxes, beds, bunks, crates, bodies, skeletons, cars and every other apocalyptic container you can imagine looting.

Alongside this, I would have loved to see less "pay-2-win" aspects and a larger attempt at balancing the game as well as making weapons, the crafting process, rewards system and courier missions more exciting. I would have preferred something along the lines of a non-linear storyline to follow whenever I felt like it, but sadly that is not the case and the player is left to figure out his own ways of entertaining himself and steering clear of over-geared players who dump money into the game.

The game gives the player a great atmosphere, shows off neat concepts and ideas, creates an amazing feeling of sub-urban survival. It gets even better if you play with friends! For my own taste, the game needs more content. However, this is only my opinion, if you don't agree then it's perfectly fine.

I highly suggest you play the game yourself and make your own opinions on it!

Overall, Nether is a decent game and most certainly worth a play!
