i hate/love this game, its hard. The game itself if amazing, the gameplay is smooth for a while and graphics are amazing (i recommend having a nvidia 1060 or equal for solid 60 fps). the "smooth for a while" part is as soon as you have anything of worth, a bow or even a spear, people will try to kill you. the game requires time and skill, knowing how to do stuff like farm, kill, and build. yes, i love the game, is it worth 35$? NO, unless you are a god the game should only be bought while its on sale. 15-25 would be ok for Rust but 35 is over the top

The community, oh god where do i start? its sucks. all the youtube videos where people make friends and get guns easy are few and far between, with 450 hours i can say that the game is a HELLA BIG GRIND, you need to put in 10+ hours for a small stone base and a few guns (that being said, a snowball can start very quickly and end almost as quick) like a pistol. everyone in a DBNO state (down but not out) will cuss and swear, try to trade or call you a N****r, they dont care about YOU or your base, they care about the loot. that being said grudges in rust are a very lethal thing. if someone doesn't like you, by morning your base might be gone. other times they will just swear or try to make friends with you. the best advice for new players is NEVER OPEN THE DOOR, if someone even gets past 1 door, you saved them 1,600 sulfer, 320 metal frags, and 1920 charcoal.

Raiders always want more then they spent, if a raider spent 1000 GP (GunPower for any new players) they will want AT LEAST 1500, + all your guns and most likely will claim your base as there own.

restate and reiterate a few things,

1 people are not friendly, most of the time they will act it to either, inside you. (change all the codes and lock you out) or 2, leech off of you and then leave.

2. don't expect to see any Online raid protection, most times people offline raid because its cheaper, (incase you seal the breach) and they cant PvP for anything.

3. Only play with IRL or long time friends, the rust discord (https://discord.gg/rust) is full of people trying to inside raid you. dont trust them. Always change codes every wipe.

4. Blueprints and grind, god, its a HUGE grind for 1 blueprint, now you might be thinking "But toucan, why would you need it?" simple, cant craft the item without a BP (blueprint). that means to craft the item you have to find it.

5. Rust is a good game, although it may be awful to start, that feeling of playing and getting wrecked by a huge clan only to kill them all later is amazing.

6. dont play modded servers. yeah, yeah, they are easy and allow more pvp. and yes, do play modded servers to learn to PVP, but dont think that modded servers are rust at its finest.

7. SOLO IS NOT A YOLO, you will get raped by clans and small citys. #5 is refering to playing with friends. play with a a group for max fun

If you want to buy this game,be prepared to feel cancer and rage, only to feel excitement and happiness. its not worth 35, wait until its on sale. i hoped this helped.
