Pros
Valve does an amazing job at getting emotions across. Isolation is a constant theme throughout the game. Of course, there's also the genius concept of the portal gun, which twists the usual first-person shooter, giving the player something that can both help and hurt. Each puzzle is well-made and a challenge. I love the dark humor employed here and there.

Cons
A few levels are so fast-paced they test instinct more than they do ingenuity and ability to solve puzzles. In some cases, I felt like the devs were going too fast, either for me or the theoretical noob; it was hard to keep up at times.

Bottom Line
Although Portal can be confusing at times, it is a must-play for anyone with any brains looking to delve into the world of PC gaming.
