Amazing soundtrack and gameplay with cool cinematics. Story wise it's kinda lame but the gameplay makes up for that.

Now before the guys with rose tinted glasses show up and tell me that I'm stupid and trying to run the game on an old pc and then complain that I have bad graphics, let me list my PC specs here before you read all of that and form an opinion:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: ASUS DUAL RTX2060 OC 12GB
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MT/s Dual Channel
SSD: WD_BLACK 1TB

I'm gonna compare this game mainly to Import Tuner Challenge since both of these games are the most similar to each other. My main language is not english so I might not be able to describe some things in great detail.

Story
Since TXR's story is set 4 years after ITC's I didn't expect to see much here. Characters are pretty forgettable ex like Snake Eyes and Swift Emperor or the ones where the english translation is so abhorrent that you can't get the rival's weird sentences out of your head. The cutscenes are just...there, they have no use at all or contribute to anything at least from my POV so it doesn't make sense to just sit through some text with animations. The mystical messages are completely unnecessary and at times don't even make sense probably because of translation and look like a PowerPoint Presentation I made in middle school. I wouldn't give the cutscenes in ITC an award but comparing both, I'd still prefer ITC's cutscenes over the current TXR's bouncy text with weird effects.

Gameplay
-More variety in camera modes needed(like action camera where it all feels more cinematic)
-Add Ability to turn TCS off
ITC had a way better sense of speed and better handling overall. When it comes to sense of speed the camera of ITC always pushed a little back whenever you accelerated(ik TXR does this too but not as much) or in turns it would kind of flow with the corner. Whenever you reached high speeds motion blur was just going way crazier than here, light streaks and so on. ITC managed to give you the feel of going fast without actually going that fast. TXR on the other hand has more of an arcade racer feel or Gran Turismo where the camera pivot point is not in the center of the car but the rear bumper like in TXR Drift. BUT I think TXR's

-Shinjuku and Shibuya Line need to be added
-NPCs have no awareness at all and try to slam into you once you have that little push to overtake
-Rubberbanding AI

Audio
Car audio while still not perfect has definetly improved compared to it's predecessors and the soundtrack is pretty solid too with new tracks and some old ones as well that have been remixed to be more "modern". Only problem with the music is that it gets repetitive over time so we need more songs, also if more rivals had their own theme song it would make it easier to recognize them instantly from the melody. Another nice addition to this would be that when your car gets closer to a rival before battling them, the free roam BGM should slowly fade out and be replaced with the rivals theme song in a low volume while your car is close to them and after you decide to flash your lights to start the battle, the volume increases and the battle music should start to normally play after that. It's just a recommendation but I think it would make nice for some ambient music.

Visuals
(For this part you should keep in mind that I'm just a mechanic and know nothing about coding so I might be talking sh*t here, all of this is just my perspective)
My last rant about TXR is Unreal Engine or rather the "standard" graphics of it. The game looks like it uses all the basic assets that UE5 provides...but it ends at that. Now I might be blind here but to me it feels like Genki hasn't put in any effort to make TXR's lighting stand out much and be unique to itself but rather use UE5's standard lighting. I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing but specifically because of this the game doesn't have it's own unique look and feel so it seems to me that UE5 wasn't molded to fit TXR's style but much rather TXR was molded to fit UE5's style if you know what I mean? So because of this the whole game just genuinely feels like fan made TXR remaster project made by two teenagers and not a whole studio.
Another problem I have with this game is optimisation. Now I'm no "4K ULTRA HD RESOLUTION 200FPS GAMING" type of person, I just like to have 60fps on 1080p with decent graphics and I did have 60 fps in TXR *most* of the time with very high GPU usage for no reason at all. It doesn't make sense to me that loading one car in the garage makes your GPU usage spike up to 75-80% instantly. And when you're out racing it's balls out 99% usage all the time anyways. My graphics are set to the high preset with upscaling up to 70% and TSR enabled. This is the game's default preset btw the only thing I changed was bump up the upscaling from 67 to 70 and yet I still have sharp corners. Textures sometimes look like I can see the grid lines under them, I can't quite describe it it's like when you watch an AI video you can visibly see all the artefacting right? The same is happening here but very very mildly it's like you can see the AI Upscaling scrambling to put up a sharp image but always fails.. I tried running the game native and that obviously fixes all of my issues that i had with anti-aliasing Optimisation is just completely absent and with Genki introducing VTuber rivals instead of fixing the problems we already have I think it's just gonna stay like this.

TL;DR: I think if they would've just continued developing the engine of ITC and then later adapted it to TXR25 I'm sure we would've had a better result than this. Although I got the game for 30 bucks in early access I think currently it doesn't live up to it's full price and some optimisation

Gameplay is very addicting hence why it's so fun to play it but please for the love of god optimize and fix all the current bugs in the game before adding stuff on top of it breaking it even more. The laundromat sometimes is being blocked by an invisible object making it impossible to launder money from there unless the game is restarted. No matter what GPU or how much power it has the game has tremendous lag at certain points and sometimes fixes itself but after some time again starts to jitter like crazy making it frustrating to play. I always have to restart the game because something broke and that truly takes out the fun in all of this

The initial release of Cyberpunk 2077 was obviously not really great but playing it 5 years later most of the bugs and problems I had with the game are kinda resolved. The story is still great, changing with every decision you make in the game but the gigs are in my opinion mainly there just to get upgrades and don't serve much purpose other than that. Still have to buy Phantom Liberty in order to be able to review that DLC but from the trailers so far it could also be another trip like the main story. Melee fights still feel quite shabby and unimproved but gunfights on the other hand are great especially when you have certain cyberware that aids with combat too. Cars and their handling can definetly still be improved but not too bad in their current state. All things considered I'd definetly recommend this game to anyone looking to go through a somewhat meaningful story.

If you don't compare it to GTA it's actually a fine game. The open world feels big although the map size is relatively small and Hong Kong also feels very alive due to everything being so densely packed. Gameplay itself is sometimes janky but the fighting system is pretty alright compared to the Yakuza series

As someone who started the Portal series with Portal 2 I found this game quite good for it's age but it obviously feels under-developed in comparison to Portal 2. Story-wise great game and I wish they would've kept the feature that shows which Portal you last placed.

A game that manages to outsell AAA games which is made by a single developer is always gonna be good in my book
