I really wanted to like this game, but it's a massive grind fest. After winning a tough boss fight I would want to get a feeling of achievement, but instead I'm faced with the reality that it only means more grinding of resources. Everything you grind to achieve gets more or less obsolete the instant you want to progress further, but every other annoyance persists throughout the game. The only thing keeping me in this game is the sunk cost fallacy. And playing with friends. Oh gods (or Norse mythology equivalent) how much this game would tear me up in solo.

Positive: Building stuff is nice.

Kerbal Space Program is one of those games where you make your own rules. Career mode with contracts is just a helpful suggestion how you might want to play the game, but ultimately there is no win condition. Go nuts! If the game is too easy, ramp up the settings. If it's too hard, play sandbox and toggle damage off. You don't need to make that return trip to Eve, you want to!

The mod community is also fantastic and extends the gameplay which ever way you want to go. I personally think that Kerbal Engineer Redux or similar automatic calculator should be in the base game.

There are some quirks in the game. Some might call them bugs, or "Kraken", but the fun factor heavily outweights the minor setbacks.

If you ever wanted to build your own rocket, but lacked the aerospace engineering degree, KSP offers a tongue-in-cheek gameplay with some actual physics.
