My don'ts for each Story.

Don't let Roman die, feels so empty without him.
Don't pickup Momma's calls, she will always be disappointed in Louis.
Don't trust Billie, he only wants to incriminate Johnny.

Such a dope Sci-Fi Space Shooter combined with Fantasy game-play and story. Chorus has so many moments that make the game-play memorable. The story-setting is like nothing else out there, and works quite well as a feasible backdrop. The crazy abilities and ship features are unique and awesome standouts. I didn't use the Rite of Control much after unlocking it, but the others are all choice.

I wish there was a new game+ the story progression make sense as to why it's missing to some extent. It's also missing additional modes, could really use an arcade like mode for more replayability - less heavy on the story.Missed opportunity to have a mode with the ability to use The One as an epic ultimate attack.

Spear through The Faceless as you become your highest state of harmony, in Chorus 🎶

An amazing take on the br hero shooter genre.

There's so many unique mechanics involving the Masquerade, wrapped around peak vampire pvp gameplay. I always spam-drop near the melee weapon stores no matter which class I'm playing. Solo is a good time because of the way it handles self-revive.

Wish the modes were not so locked into br, an open world timed ffa / team deathmatch would have popped this game off. Its free and you get a good bit of the unlocks quickly. Play Bloodhunt before the last of its blood is drained.

A great game with a few flaws.

Combat is empowering. Forspoken gives you tons of abilities and tricks to play with. It is a bit overwhelming and it's easy to get your fingers crossed (the controls are vast and can use a overhaul) but there's a flavor here that will lead different players down different styles. There should be more melee options, and the movement controls could be expanded on a bit further, yet the combat and evading and all the different stylish moves you can do are thrilling to perform in every battle. You will try to upgrade all your magic and unlock every ability just because it's fun, and that's what will keep you playing. As you traverse the world, you will encounter so many enemies all over and tons of pick-up-ables. I didn't do everything, I mainly took pictures and discovered monuments, which didn't provide me much equipment, just more stats. A highlight memory for me was during the tree harvesting mission before Prav. I found a prime hut location to keep grinding upgrades, I learned a lot about the game and how the systems work during that 10+ hr grind in the same area. Overall the combat, gameplay and movement is the main highlight & package to pickup the game. Surfing and Sila are my favorites!

The story unfortunately uses too many "single-player-game" tropes. To start, there's too much waiting. The game starts off incredibly slow and I can see this section turning most away. Don't worry, the rest of the game isn't stealthy/this slow, but waiting to get there is a hassle and this potentially ruins replay-ability of the story. You will wait for scenes to load, wait for the game to load, waiting for Frey to move into the right spot so the scene can start, waiting to get to the destination in the non-ability sections, waiting for cut scenes to get to the point. The story itself is good and there's a lot of interest there. The way they go about the story is okay, after the slow intro it opens up the world to you and becomes a breath of great air. The interactions with Frey and Cuff are indeed fantastic.
But the story sections themselves are linear, and the objectives are very clear (kill thing in-front of you). The waiting is a problem at times. As soon as you turn on the game, it has to "load" the open world to show as a background to the menu. This sets the stage for why it's a problem, it's loading something extravagant when it will soon disappear as you want to move on and play. This will happen continuously with the story, waiting to load this and that then quickly move to the next scene or area and load again. When you're controlling Frey in these story sections, you're really just interacting with crap strewn around the environment in the most obvious way. And I'm not kidding when I say after you interact, Frey may need to take a few steps to get into the right spot to initiate the scene. There's a lot of artificial time wasting in the game that seems like it was put there to extend the duration of the game.

After beating the great (yet long) ending to the overall Story, I do wish there was something more substantial to do in the world vs the typical 100% completion. You get powers that you acquire essentially in the end of the story, and gain so much strength that you truly are almighty, crushing the scrappy enemies still scattered around the world. It almost feels like increasing my power with the monuments and crafting made the game less fun, or more speed-run, because I became that powerful. I have loads of abilities to use, but most enemies are dying in one hit. The challenge in the game is seriously easy, and it feels intentional, like a creative choice by the devs. There is a charm in that, this game could easily be impossibly hard with a few tweaks. You do so much damage, that I found myself using magic that the enemies resisted so I can just play the battle longer. Regardless of the damage you deal, it's hard for you to die/lose. You are granted several healing items, hell even the final boss has healing items randomly on the ground, and even if you do die, you have a few revives you forgot existed to pick you back up.

This is a game meant to be enjoyed with true escapism. It won't challenge you, but it will interest you with the unique creativity in brings to the table. Run around in a vast open world with incredible abilities, but long for a little bit more substance, development, and challenge. It's worth a buy on sale, and when I'm feeling the need run with the airy magic again, I'll revisit and 100% it.

At its core, Void Crew is the ideal spaceship roguelite management sim. It's playable solo, but is a whole ton more fun with a crew.

It still feels and plays like a early access, so some edges are rough. Luckily this only adds to the immersion. It's so enjoyable and I'm excited for all future improvements.
