I like this game. It has phenomenal graphics, an engaging story, and very satisfying combat mechanics (especially the standoff mechanics). In terms of design, it does have the Ubisoft-style formula of going to an enemy camp => clearing the camp => doing the side-quests revealed in the surrounding area after clearing the camp => repeat - which is a formula that I actually like, but also that is certainly not for everyone. If SP decides to create a sequel (either direct or a spiritual successor - I prefer the latter), I also hope that they will reduce the amount of the "collection" missions (e.g. the Fox Dens) maybe by half, as I did enjoy doing the first dozen of them, but I feel that the amount such missions - like in the Ubisoft games - is too much that they eventually become more of a chore to do.

Just as good as the original/HD version, now without the workarounds needed so that the game could run on WIndows 11. Also with updated graphics, and quality-of-life features that do make the game more enjoyable to play. Sadly, the game doesn't come with Skirmish mode, and I hope Firefly makes the decision to add the feature in the future. I hope this purchase can also serve as stimulation for Firefly to also develop a Definitive Edition of Stronghold Crusader.

Much more stable and optimised than the Legendary Edition. if you love playing Skyrim there's no reason to prefer Legendary Edition over this.

The story has a gritty and serious feel to it, which makes this installment the odd one out compared to the other GTA games, whose stories tend to have that silly, over-the-top and wacky feel to them. It makes me feel like I'm in an HBO crime drama, or a Scorsese film.

I also love the physics of this game. The driving is different, and less arcade-y from that in the other GTA games. I don't find it difficult to master, though, and once its mechanics clicked to me, controlling vehicles in this game feels more rewarding as a result.

I could do without the other characters calling Niko almost every minute to hang out with them, though.

The game lets you cook meth in a shack in the middle of nowhere, guided by someone who gets his information from the internet (not knowing how to cook meth himself), all the while being surrounded by waves of SWAT teams.

Spent thousands of hours playing this game before finally getting it on Steam. Now that we know Microsoft is willing to make Age of Empires IV, they should also make Rise of Nations 2!

Great game. Though I'm pretty sure I spent more time modding the game than actually playing it.

Addictive game. Comparable to Company of Heroes except you have no base building at all. Majority of the missions focus the player on taking over enemy bases with small initial squad that the player can increase through reinforcements, the number of which depends on points that the player earns by taking over and holding enemy bases.

The amount of micromanagement the player is expected to do is a major plus for me (though not everyone would agree with me on this, some people find this aspect tedious). Each unit in the map, be it a soldier, tank, artillery or vehicle, has its own inventory (e.g. weapons, tools, bullets, armour, gas) that you can customise, this leads you to fun scenarios, one and the most common that I can remember is taking over an enemy tank: if you do not have enough points to receive a tank reinforcement, you can instead get a squad to ambush an enemy tank, incapacitate it (make sure not to destroy the tank's hull), repair and man it after neutralising the enemy crew, making the tank at your command.

The game runs well on Proton, which is unfortunately not the case for the sequel, Assault Squad 2. It also goes on discount very often, making it cheap as hell. Overall I had a lot of fun playing this game, I would recommend buying it.
