UPDATE AS OF 5/27/25:
They have done a lot of work to restore good faith in the developers. I think that the past few seasons have introduced some interesting new cards, and I have more archetypes to mess around with than ever. It seems as though the introduction of the new card acquisition model ("Snap Packs") has it worked out that if you are in an alliance who completes the weekly bounties, you complete your own weekly challenges, etc. you will be able to get 1-2 cards / week just through playing the game.

I still think there are things to be desired from the dev team, perhaps some more "balance" to the season card vs non-season pass cards power scaling but that is pretty nit-picky and I know most people feel the same way. Either way, for a game to go from "grossly overmonetized" to "definitely not hiding that they are a business but things feel more balanced" is a step in the right direction and it DOES feel like Second Dinner wants to build community AND great gameplay. I'm still playing daily and it's barely gotten stale, if it does I just cook up a new deck!

OLD REVIEW (Late-2024):
i've spent a ton of hours playing this game on both mobile and PC and I gotta say, what is otherwise a truly fantastic card/strategy game featuring some great use of the Marvel IP is really stifled by poor development roadmaps and card acquisition mechanics. You can tell that Second Dinner's primary motivation is to get money from their player base because otherwise, getting new cards is a true pain in the a**. I'm still locked in for a bit longer hoping that they make some amends with the community, but someone who has invested more time and money than me might not agree and I couldn't argue with them. Hard to recommend to new players as of today (11/25/24).

Gameplay: 5/5, Graphics: 5/5 (it's a card game), Fun Factor: 4/5, Monetization/Progression: 1/5.

if you're a fan of games like Hotline Miami and My Friend Pedro, you're in for a treat. Solid gameplay with a good challenge. Does a great job of switching things up pretty regularly. Worth the $10-15 you're likely to get it for, and then some.

It's PUBG. It's the OG. What seemed like a lost hope as time went on and the explosion of the Battle Royale genre gave rise to the likes of Fortnite, Apex Legends, COD Blackout, etc. has now become a bastion of hope amidst a world filled with "sweaty try hards". I put a majority of my hours into this game when it was still in alpha and had moved on to aforementioned competitors by the time the game received its actual release, checking in every now and again to see what updates had come along, and to be honest I'm glad I waited until recently to pick this game back up. It is still the PUBG I know and love but it has expanded to multiple maps with a massive variety of weapons/equipment. It truly is the most balanced game in the genre if you ask me.

If you've become tired of other games in the genre and want something to reinvigorate your love for the game, then look no further...it's been here all along.
