There are honestly better games in the genre, but this is still pretty fun and reasonably priced for what you get. The RPG elements are fairly light and about as nonsensical as other contemporary RPG's where wearing a coat boosts your intelligence or some other craziness.

While I do enjoy it a great deal, the game is entirely too reliant on luck and that can just tank a game. The good news is that it doesn't take long to complete, or fail, a hand. The real frustration is in the later chapters where some of the objectives can be nearly impossible. It really stinks to play through 6 of 8 hands only to realize you can't possibly meet the objectives.

Despite it's warts, this is still a good time and I've been compulsively playing it since I got it.

Somehow, an add-on to a game that has nothing to do with zombies has this engaging addition that is one of the best zombie shooters I have ever played. Seriously, the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is some of the most fun I've had blasting zombies. The hordes, the tension, the need for headshots. Honestly, it's all enough right there but there are some excellent boss battles as well and fairly decent enemy variety to keep you on your toes. You may feel overwhelmed and tempted to go down in difficulty, but don't do it! Trust me, the whole point is that these tough to kill enemies put you to the test. It's always just challenging enough to still be fun and having zombies pop out of places you least expect when you think you've got the horde in front of you managed adds a great layer of authenticity. 3 thumbs up. (Borrowed one from a zombie. He's not using it anymore.)

You get to shoot claptraps over and over again. Isn't this what you were waiting for?

Overall good but not worth getting outside of the GOTY edition or you just wanted more Borderlands shooty action. The new vehicles are kinda meh and you can't use them outside the DLC. That might have made other parts of the game more interesting.

Quite possibly the most pointless DLC for any game ever. If you love grinding for hours for piddly or no rewards, no character advancement, and pure bragging rights for a videogame, it's the best thing ever. Otherwise, not worth the hassle. If you receive this as part of the GOTY edition, try it, then feel no guilt for not completing it because it is simply not worth the hours and hours of your time.

Great game. They haven't improved the formula enough in the sequels but as the game that started it all this one takes the cake. I especially love Zombie Island which is still one of the best Zombie shooters on the market.

The premise is awesome but the gameplay is horrible. The original Doom had more engaging combat. The maps are confusing and poorly laid out and you spend too much time in the same game world. It jumps back and forth with weird non-sensical puzzles. I would love to see what other worlds this game explores but after an hour of the same repetitive nonsense I gave up.
Also, if you're going to go old school health and ammo pick-ups there is something of a science behind it. There has to be a certain balance. This feels random without much thought, which I hate to say makes the game feel unbalanced. I think it's just overall poorly designed.
This game needs much tighter level design, less repetition, and either shorter levels or more to do. It's an exercise in boredom and frustration.

One of my favorite casual games when I want to kill some time or do something while listening to a new song. Hook up a controller (I use a spare Xbox 360 controller) for some classic twin stick action to get the most out of the game. It's an oddly contemporary game that does a good job of incorporating your music into the gameplay while nostalgically bringing back memories of old twin-stick shooters in the arcade. (For those of you old enough to remember what an arcade was.)

Great game for it's time. Dated now and better dynamic music games are available but I can't thumbs down this game after enjoying it for so long. Not sure why Steam thinks I've only played for 9 hours. The kids and I all loved this game when it came out.

A charming one-part parody and one-part homage to sci-fi greats. Sprinkled generously with various Star Trek flavorings with just a hint of Babylon 5. The game bogs down a bit towards the end though makes up for it by really making you pay attention to the combat mechanics and learn how the different skills complement each other.

The beginning is a challenge and you can feel some real peril but hope is always within your grasp. The only downside is that losing an officer can be very painful as they are tough to level up and difficult to replace.

My only complaint is that I don't see a ton of replay value. Yeah, there is some randomness but the main story is going to play out about the same. However, even at full price you get plenty to do for $15.
